Eh? I did link it in my first post in this thread......

And now that that something is out, I'll mention it. The demiplane article in Dragon #353 has a section on Moil, with a bit of relevant lore on Orcus, etc.

Irony is that I'm incorporating Orcus into my storyline right now.

I'm upping the Little keep on the Borderlands for 10th level adventurers and instead am using a massive dungeon and priests of Orcus.

Dead Gods, and Fiendish Codex I are the deepest of the sources already mentioned, and I'll second them both. My personal preference only, I'd avoid like the plague the portions of the H modules that deal with the Abyss (and FC:I retreads the same ground in much better fashion).

But a source that hasn't been mentioned yet is the 2e module 'Return to the Tomb of Horrors'. A large portion of the module takes place in the demiplane of Moil/The City that Waits, which was originally a city on the (now dead) world of Ranais. Moil was devoted to the worship of Orcus, and when they turned away from him, the archfiend/god ripped the city from the face of its planet. The module's description of Moil has some really nice stuff regarding the worship of Orcus, and it would be very easy to incorporate it into other sources.

Irony is that I just had to reread that section of the module for something I was writing. Really good stuff.

Well it's only a framing of the books but if we were to assume it's all canon then it probably went down like this.

Timeline

* Bloodstone pass modules result in the destruction of the Wand of Orcus and his avatar.
* Kir seizes the opportunity to kill the God.
* Orcus dies.
* Orcus becomes a undead God.
* Orcus kills a number of minor gods that probably existed in the Realms.
* Orcus sets himself up on Mechanus (probably Gond's realm in Faerun)
* One of his priests resurrects him.
* Orcus sets himself back up on Faerun.

Yeah, but I used it's primary title.

Hordes of the Abyss is it's primary title, to me.

Oh yeah, Champions of Valor also to get the info that is the opposite info of Champions of Ruin.

Well between my reply and Dargoth's, you have most if not all of the sourcebooks that has info on him. There's probably some 1e material that I'm forgetting like 1e's Manual of the Planes, etc.

I'll add Races of Faerun and Champions of Ruin to this listing as well, for historical Orcus/fiend-related details.

And the Fiendish Codex I.

If you have access to it, the Ghostwalk Campaign Option book from 3.0 days has information on Orcus' faith as a full blown religion, as they are major villains in that particular setting.

Great Modron March, Tomb of Magic, Dragons of Faerun, Demihuman Deities, Book of Vile Darkness, Faiths & Pantheons, Player's Guide to Faerun, Bloodstone Lands, Unapproachable East for one of his clerics, Manual of the Planes for 3e, and Hordes of the Abyss.

And there are a few threads on here about Orcus. One from August where both Eric and Eytan chimed in on how Planescape material and FR material doesn't conflict. It was before Gencon.

Edit: Found it.

Most of the Realms info on Orcus can be found in the old H1-4 1st edition modules

If your using the Great Wheel Cosmology then you may be interested in an old planescape module called Dead Gods

However there are several large holes in the Dead Gods story as it relates to the Realms thanks to Gareths Dragonsbane (Who offcially completed the H1-4 modules which end with Gareth destroying the Wand of Orcus)
