Posted - 28 May 2010 : 15:15:54 The most recent FRCG says that Nimbral was washed under the seas when the Spellplague occured. However, the paragraph (on pg.163 of the FRCG) hedges it's bet by saying that Nimbral may just be staying cloaked in illusion. Have the FR powers that be made a determination on whether Nimbral is indeed gone? Thanks for any info! |

I don't like that the world needed to be 'washed clean' to achieve that, but I do understand (as a long-time GM) where they were coming from with that decision.
The second edition FR box was also full of "misinformation" and rumors...
Like the entry about the Fall of Myth Drannor, in which "The elven hero Fflar, captain of Myth Drannor, slew a nycaloth with his bare hands then, or so the legends say. Others tell of a magical blade, Demonbane, wielded by him that day". Or the Netheril entry, without the precise time of its fall: "It is believed Netheril died some 2,500 years ago"
It is very nice, cause the DMs can develop their own versions of the facts, and writers and game designers have something to work in future products...

You can have it invisible, explorable (Adventure!) ruins beneath the waves, or go with an Atlantis-style thing, with either water-breathers (Sea Folk) or air-breathers (Aventi). You can even mix & max - only part of it may have survived invisible.

I don't use the 4th edition system or books, though I do own them. If I do switch to 4th edition, my 4th edition Faerun will be alot different. |
