Posted - 23 Oct 2006 : 10:34:19 I recently bought Baldur's Gate, hoping it would be as good (character wise) as it's sequel. It was not. So, I searched the web for mods, and found the Baldur's Gate NPC project, the best BG Mod on the web. It adds so much depth to the characters, and more than that, it's very well researched, adding huge amounts of realmsloe into the game, but it's done in such a way, that it doesn't feel like info drops. Has anyone else tried this, and what are your thoughts on it?

BG1 NPC is great. There's lots of other good Tutu mods to try as well. Definitely check out Sword Coast Stratagems. If you've ever been bothered by the fact that in vanilla BG enemies stupidly don't use the very same resources that are at the party's disposal, this Tutu mod fixes that. With SCS
* no more luring enemies away from the mob one at a time--enemies call for help * enemy spellcasters (both mages and clerics) are vastly improved: - buff themselves - can detect stealth and invisibility - use a much, much wider selection of spells--spells that are actually effective--and use them smartly - use scrolls and wands * enemies target party members much more intelligently--wizards and ranged weapons users are not necessarily safe in the back row anymore * enemy deployment is much smarter overall * most key creatures have been made substantially more difficult
This is the Tutu equivalent of Tactics, and it is outstanding. Beautifully done by DavidW at Gibberlings 3
Posted - 23 Oct 2006 : 13:31:27 Okay, http://www.gibberlings3.net/bg1npc/index.php . Oh, you'll need EasyTutu to play this http://usoutpost31.com/easytutu/ . Make sure you have full installs of both games, and that they are patched. It took me six go's to get it working. Interestingly enough, it worked when I installed it over an insanely modded BGII and a BGI that refused to work.
