Hey, I've read the Icewind Dale Trilogy and Legacy of the Drow Trilogy, (and in the legacy of drow we know that Wulfgar dies) now...the next series to read, correct me if im wrong, is the Paths of Darkness Series
i was reading some short summaries on the first book of Paths of Darkness, The Silent blade...and it talks about Drizzt's companions..Cattie, Bruenor, and...WULFGAR!? and then it goes on talkin about....Crenshinibon! now..didnt they already beat that Crenshinibon dude...in Crystal Shard of ICewind Dale...when wulfgar was alive...or is this Paths of Darkness like a repeat or something?
Some1 please xplain...becuz im thinkin of just skipping to the Hunter's Blade Trilogy. |

Heck, my copy of Passage to Dawn has Wulfgar's face right on the front cover. I remember thinking that was a little too much of a hint. I think it's interesting that Wulfgar is the shell-shocked companion. |

aaahhhh, well...i always thought it was spelt Ork...and it looked right to me...even though i have never read Warhammer in my life LOL |

Where can I read this story without buying the corona book?
Well, you could always borrow it from your local public library. If they don't have it in their collection, you could use the interlibrary loan service to get it (probably for a small fee, though). |

My understanding is that they are already working on a RAS "Best of the Realms" anthology. Not sure if they will include this short or not though. |

I think that's the only place for now, but if they continue their "Best of" anthologies, and they have already done Ed's short stories and are doing Elaine's, there may be a "Best of RAS" short story anthology where it might show up. Mind you, I don't know for sure, I'm just looking at this from the way other anthologies and stories have come about. |

Hi Virendar,
I'm thinking that the problem you're having is that you haven't read the final novel in the Legacy of the Drow, which is in fact a quartet, not a trilogy. It takes place approximately five or six years after the third book and is vitally, vitally important to understanding Paths of Darkness, which grows directly out of it. Around where you are in the series, it becomes a lot more important, [in my opinion, at least], to read the Drizzt books in chronological order, as despite being divided in to series their stories tie together fairly closely. The fourth novel in the Legacy of the Drow is called "Passage to dawn", as can be seen on Laethan's excellent list, and I highly recommend reading it and not skipping to The Hunter's Blades, which will make pretty much no sense without PtD and Paths of Darkness.
Thanks for the list, Laethan. I wasn't aware of some of those shorts or where they fit chronologically.

Well....after reading Icewind Dale...where at the end they are ABOUT to recapture Mithril Hall...and then in the begining of Legacy of the Dro...the already Have captured it....i am guessing that Paths pf Darkness (in the time framce) takes place in between, after Ice Wind Dale when wulrgar is alive, and before Legacy of Drow when he dies. So...does this series explain How they recaptured Mithril Hall? cuz i always wondered about that....
P.S SO are you saying that Paths oF Darkness are:

DON'T skip it.
These books will explain the entire Wulfgar situation, and if you are talking about Servant of the Shard, it's not a part of the Paths of Darkness series anymore. It's been removed from that series and placed as Book 1 of the Sellswords Trilogy.
Trust me, it's a series that really should not be skipped. |
