I just picked up Vanity's Brood and inside it advertises that Lisa's got a gig on another Trilogy called The Lady Penitent. The Titles being:
Book one: Sacrifice of the Widow (Feb. 2007)
Book two: Game of the Ancients (Sept. 2007)
Book three: Ascendancy of the Last (June 2008)
Very Exciting  I can hardly wait!!!! |

Nope. The urban fantasy sub-genre is when you have the modern world, exactly as you know it, but with some fantasy elements thrown in on top of that.
In the case of Shadowrun, you have elves, dwarves, dragons, and magic. But, even if they are using magic, they're also using the same technology everyone else is. So the elf mage will also be packing a machine gun and riding a motorcycle, the dwarf will be so cybered-up you wonder how much of his original body is left, and the dragon has used his magic to become chairman of a large megacorporation. |

But I'm surprised you didn't already know this... the details regarding FanPro's re-start of the Shadowrun line of novels occured around the same time the new Classic BattleTech novel line was announced.
I've got a few of the original novels, and the two new ones (which I've not read yet), and that's about it... I've never really followed this line too closely, mainly because my funding was exceedingly limited when it was running. |

If you've picked up any of the more recent d20 Future supplements from WotC, you'll have a fair idea of what Shadowrun is like (in its current 4e, rather than my more favorite interpretation of the game in 3e).

I also noticed the ad for the new trilogy. I am quite enthusiastic about it because I really have enjoyed Lisa's work. In the last couple of months I have read her Sembia work, The House of Serpernts trilogy, war of the spider queen, and her story in Realms of Elves. I also enjoyed the War of the Spider Queen series, unlike most others, so I am looking forward to the Lady Penitent. I even mentioned in another thread one of my favorite parts was when Lloth punished Halistraa. But anyways I am rambling, I just ment to say I was excited is all. |
