Indeed -- though I'd apply that rule to any novel I read. Any details about the author are irrelevant to me. In fact, for me, authors are pretty much an afterthought. There's only a few authors that can sell me a book by putting their name on it, so for the rest, their name is a point of reference, and that's about it.
There are a few exceptions to that rule, but only a few.

Posted - 09 Apr 2011 : 15:14:57 Doesn't matter. I've read plenty of books with well written characters of the writer's opposite gender. What matters is whether the writer is good at writing characters or not. |
