Do you prefer FR books written by male authors or female authors? And why? Which ones are better?

It's all about the story for me. Gender has no bearing.

There is just a few female fantasy authors that I like, and I'm in no hurry to search for new ones. Most of them were a waste of time.

Indeed -- though I'd apply that rule to any novel I read. Any details about the author are irrelevant to me. In fact, for me, authors are pretty much an afterthought. There's only a few authors that can sell me a book by putting their name on it, so for the rest, their name is a point of reference, and that's about it.

There are a few exceptions to that rule, but only a few.

Doesn't matter. I've read plenty of books with well written characters of the writer's opposite gender. What matters is whether the writer is good at writing characters or not.

The author's gender doesn't matter to me. Though most of the fantasy books I read are written by males, and that's because there seems to be more male fantasy authors than females.
