The discussions on the IDW boards about the release of the various compilations, would seem to suggest that the Realms comics were actually more popular, so the publisher decided to release that compilation first. |

I gotta comment, though, upon reading it... They shoulda released the AD&D compilation first. There's a couple of references in FR to the first story arc from AD&D, and those references (though minor) would be better explained if AD&D had come out first, as the original comics did.
Just a small quibble, though.  |

Forgotten Realms Classics Volume 1 lists as coming out on the 15th, at least per Amazon... But they've got it available now, and I'm hearing it's on shelves already. |

Myself, I have always loved these comics. They've helped pull me into the Realms more and more when I started gaming and am overjoyed they'll be reprinted into collections. I've even had the benefit of using some aspects of them briefly in my old campaigns (Such as the Moon Penguin of Boof). So now to eagerly await their release. |

Like most comics, there's material inside these issues which can raise a few eyebrows, but also make us treasure the stories they've told.

I'm glad these are being done; I never read most of Jeff's Realms comics. (Though I'd like a Dark Horse-style omnibus even better.) |

Everybody Wants to Rule the Realms... Love that one! Particularly the forklift full of Edlore and Elminster discussing pottery. Oh, and all the guys tripping over themselves looking at Kyri in a bikini.
But to clarify, for Dalor, the main characters of the comics were statted out in those named issues of Dragon. |

Well, no. Ed wasn't, and neither was Kim Mohan, nor any of the other TSR staffers who appeared in a certain issue . . .
I can go and check on Ed's stats personally, for those interested . . .
