Just thought I'd mention it.
Apparently, it's available as an ebook even now . . . though I can't really find where.

Well I managed to get my mitts on this one in record time (I think Sage's copy made its way to South Africa, therefore he had to wait ). I can comment on a few things:
The chronological (in Realms time) order that used to prevail previous anthologies is gone. Not that it matters that much as I used to read each anthology from start to finish anyway.
If you don't like the 'New Realms' or don't want to read anything post-Spellplague, you should probably not get this anthology. More than half of the stories are set in the fifteenth century.
That being said, only one of the four stories I have read thusfar have had endless elements prevalent to the 'New Realms' 'canon'. (Primordials, Dawn Titans, Brown Dragons, Abeir, etc). The other post-Spellpague story was a blast (Resurrection Agent by Erin Evans).
We should probably start discussing this in the Book Club, rather than in this scroll, as the first four stories have been a very mixed bag of pre-/post-Spellplague and good/mediocre.
Was it worth gettting? Yeah, I'd say so, even if only 1 out of 4 was really excellent up to this point. |

I haven't actually read all of RotDead, so I can't really give a fair answer to that question. What I will say is that the Realms series--like all anthologies--feature a wide range of stories that are as varied as the authors themselves. So you'll probably have a similar experience reading this anthology as previous ones.
I can only really attest to my own story, which I had a ball writing, and I think it shows. (Particularly the dream sequence and the there's-an-angry-mob-at-the-door-to-see-you scene.) Otherwise, to each his/her own!

RoTD is that good ehh? Your not helping Most of the Realms of.... I have liked alot, usually a couple of gems alongside 5 or six very strong stories, an ejoyable one or two and usually one that just makes me scratch my head and ponder what could have been. Would you say RoTD exceeds that expectation?
I like to finish a series if I have it and I have one more Norrell and Strange to go.....But I think think longer I go without reading a Realms book the stronger the pull to read one is getting! |

Well, the heroine in question isn't actually undead . . . it's more of a hobby. Which more than vaguely creeps out the hero.
