*SPOILER*
Khelbin dies at the end, yet the double diamond saga is based in later years and he is a character that is alive and well ... would it be considered 'canon' if a major character that had died is back to life without any explanation? |

Honestly, I don't recall since it's been over a decade since I read them but if I recall right, you could read them out of order. |

Yeah, that's what I was going to say. |

Posted - 05 Apr 2008 : 07:59:10 That's the problem with those novels, TSR said they were not canon but Wizards says something about them is canon. I still have the email when I asked about it and some of the events have appeared in canon material, so some form of the events are canon but what the events are is still being debated. :)
Of course Monsters of Faerun and the email reply I received took place before Blackstaff came out, so it could have invalidated both sources. So, the easiest thing to do is what Wizards originally said, it's something Volo wrote so it may or may not be accurate except for the entry that is in Monsters of Faerun. Or just say that the Khelben that is in the DD novelettes is Tsarra who acted like Khelben instead.
