In the 3E DMG, there was a table detailing apprentice level characters for multi-classing at first level, but it was omitted in the 3.5E DMG. Does anyone know why it was removed (was it flawed, unbalanced, etc.)? |

However, that's no reason not to use the 3E rules if your DM allows you to do an apprentice level character. |

It was considered flawed as far as I know. Discussions revolved about how to balance two classes as to what abilities should be granted. Some combinations clearly appeared to be unbalanced compared to others. I do not believe there ever was put out an official explaination of why it was removed. It certainly was broke in some respects. |
