Hi all,
Just read about something called the Advanced Bestiary in one of the Pathfinder tomes. I was just wondering if anyone here had ever heard of it or knew where it could be found, as it sounds intriguing at the very least. Is it all new monsters, is it for 3/3.5 rather than 4th, what?

KEJR is correct here, just to clear things up. The d20 System License and the ability to use WotC's trademarked d20 logo (as well as text stating compatibility with 3e D&D) is/was revocable and has been revoked. Publishers have been given until Dec to stop selling books/PDFs with the d20 logo on it. Since the content of the books is covered by the non-revocable OGL, publishers could just cover the logos and offending text on hardcopies or remove them from PDFs and continue selling d20 products solely under the OGL. However, most publishers have decided that it's not worth the effort. That's why a lot of d20 books are on clearance (Paizo has a large clearance area in their web store). |

If worst comes to worst, I can probably get it on Amazon.

Indeed. As I understand it, so long as a company doesn't sign up to do 4E stuff, they are free to stick with older stuff as long as they want. It's only when they sign up for 4E that they have to stop doing older stuff. |

It may not be available much longer, but the d20 license has NOT expired. Once WotC gave it to us, through their own wording they cannot take it away. The Advanced Bestiary is a book of templates for 3.5e. If you want my recommendation, it is an excellent book! The templates are rated on a "difficulty scale" of 1-3, with templates rated 1 easy enough to apply in play as you go along. Many of the templates are quite creative, and there is also a big section on undead templates (more powerful versions of the MM undead, as well as instructions on how to make templates for the non-template MM undead). I don't remember other examples off-hand, but 2 of these templates appear in Pathfinder #2 (lifespark construct and dread ghast).
