Yes, I have plans for Halaster! Yes, he's less insane than he was, but please remember that none of the Chosen are what we would call "sane."
Ed has discussed Halaster and the events that took place after that novel. It's in his replies... probably from 2004 and 2005 more then 2006 and 2007.
Spoiler (highlight to read:) ... and now he's dead [Expedition to Undermountain].

Posted - 22 Jun 2007 : 01:29:01 And given Gelcur's comments... I decided to add a further spoiler about Halaster's status from Elminster in Hell.
|
The Sage |
Posted - 22 Jun 2007 : 01:26:26 Basically, Shar ensured Halaster's insanity by filling him with the use of the Shadow Weave, and derived other ways to drive him toward the point of insanity.

Posted - 22 Jun 2007 : 00:48:39 Ok sadly I'm waiting to read "El in Hell" till after I read "The Annotated Elminster Collector's Edition". So if it would not be to hard to sum up what did Shar have to do with his loss of sanity? |
The Sage |
Posted - 22 Jun 2007 : 00:35:55 We knew Halaster could slip back into his periods of insanity every now and then... but it was nothing compared to what he experienced before the purging of the influence from Shar.
