Hi Folks, 
I wasn't sure which forum to post this in - so I figured General FR Chat would be a good catch-all.
I play both FR D&D (I have all the FRCS sourcebooks) and I read the occasional FR novel.
But for the life of me, I'm having trouble figuring out what year and month we are "currently" in at any given time.
To my knowledge, it is DR 1374 (Year of the Lightning Storms) which matches up to the Forsaken House trilogy. Gamewise, I can't tell which year we are in from my Powers of Faerun, Moonsea, & Waterdeep sourcebooks. 
Can someone help me get up-to-date on the current timeline?

I like that idea snow. They could even include one of those 'countdown clocks' until the next FR product is released.
Which may or may not change the current date/year. |

... would be to have the DR year posted for both the most current FR game sourcebook *AND* the most current FR novel.

Sacrifice of the Widow actually takes place in the autumn of 1375. Which, if you go by the "books move the timeline theory", means we are almost heading into the year 1376!
I use novels and sourcebooks and such as guidelines at best, personally. Otherwise, it's possible to argue that the current year is 1380 (thanks to the Final Gate epilogue) or even 1390 (that Elaith Craulnober story in one of the Realms anthologies. And really, this is a fictional world--does it matter that much what the exact month in the exact year it is? It matters more to the people making Realms products than it does to me. I think what matters most is the story being told. |

Game-products-wise, Shadowdale is set in Hammer 1375. Therefore Cormyr is set before that and Anauroch set after it.
You can easily shift the dates for your campaign though. We picked a specific date for Shadowdale due to the number of other events going on in the area.

That said, there are still a few forthcoming novels that will be set in 1374. For example, the final chapter of Shadowbred is set on 11 Uktar 1374, and juding by what happens at the end, book 2 of the Twilight War trilogy will kick off straight from the end of the previous one. |

Maybe the new Grand History of The Realms will fill us in on all the things that surely happen between these years. It does seem they jump from year to year upon a whim.  |

That is correct. Sacrifice of the Widow now carries FR fiction into the current year.
However, the current year, being 1375 DR, was officially set in "The Horde" article of DRAGON #349 as Kuje noted above.

Okay. It's 1375 ... Year of the Risen Elfkin! I can't wait to see what the novels and the game sourcebooks come about with this year.

I am not entirely sure, but I believe the newest novels brought us up to 1375. I too am easily confused with the timeline. |
