First, while I don't know about Walker (having gotten bored with Shanara very quickly) I do know that Elminster and Gandalf wouldn't ever fight. Instead, they'd just sit on a porch looking at the stars, puffing on their pipes, and trade stories of youthful and impetuous companions.

Well I beleive I already said in the "Which race is best" (or something like the) scroll, the "who would win" questions, most of the time, none of the combatants at all would fight each other (if that makes sense). Their questions for people to post their own oppinions and/or have friendly debates on the subject.

And second, this wasn't even what this thread was supposed to be about, remember?

Aye, that I do. But being the one who started the conversation, I'll answer your question. Feanor (who's a friend of mine and i had his permission to post that), simply asked does anyone have anything to add? And no one else did, so I did (argh, the horrible grammar).

And being a big Shannara fan (how could you get bored of those) Walker wouldn't fight without good reason either, but more than likely, wouldn't talk very long. He's mainly a loner. (and he would feel left out because he dosn't have a pipe)

A movie about Drizzt must they make from every here a movie, The Drizzt doesn't want to have a movie about himself

No serieously why a movie, it is a fantasy character must they make from every fantasy book or character a movie... please i don't hope so, use you fantasy is much better...

The topics on these forums of late have become rather boring I've noticed someone should come up with a decent topic just like the old days.

Hmm, well it's up tp Gandalf and Eleminister then
Salius Kai Posted - 20 Jan 2003 : 04:36:09
I'm quite familiar with the Shannara series, and just having finished Morgawr, sadly Walker is out of this competition. He didn't smoke. Not too many character in that series did.
Hymn Posted - 19 Jan 2003 : 21:30:28
Well and now down to the real question. Who will win the pipe smoking competion. Will it bee Elminister with his eversmoking pipe or Gandalf with his longboat of smoke. I don't rember if Walker smoked, or perhaps his smoked. ;)
Salius Kai Posted - 15 Jan 2003 : 18:54:06
And plus, Walker was trained by Cogline (who could take all three of them ), so he knows how to make all of the exploding potions and powders of the old world sciences.
Hymn Posted - 14 Jan 2003 : 23:08:10
They are all choosen, Gandalf by that female goddes, I suggest you read all of the post's. Elminister by Mystra. Walker Boh by Alanon and the council of dead druids.
Feanor_Karnil Posted - 14 Jan 2003 : 16:19:01
Indeed, but Elminster is chosen of Mystra. And Walker Boh is a druid and not even a full mage. I'm not completely sure of Gandalf though.
It may be that Elminster's mantle may not work aginst Walker Boh and Gandalf. I do not doubt Walker's and Gandalf's skill and magic but Elminster is very powerful himself.
Salius Kai Posted - 14 Jan 2003 : 14:37:36
Ah, that brings up another good point. Walker Boh and Gandalf arn't restricted to the rules of D&D. Elminster would only be able to cast so many spells before he had to resort to other means of fighting.
Hymn Posted - 14 Jan 2003 : 09:59:21
Yes, and does elministers mantel of spell protection work on the alien magic of Gandalf and Walker Boh. I wonder.
Salius Kai Posted - 13 Jan 2003 : 23:09:38
Yes, but wlker Boh dosn't cast spells, he just shoots raw magic. No chanting involved. (Spells and magic are different things.)
Trafaldi Posted - 13 Jan 2003 : 18:58:49
So all Eliminster has to do is sit back and watch Gandalf and Walker beat each other up then he can just blow up the winner with magic sword or unarmed.
Feanor_Karnil Posted - 13 Jan 2003 : 18:56:11
Looking at the FRCS the other day I was looking at Elminster's stats and key items. I noticed that Elminster has a Mantle of Spell Protection, so i'm pretty sure Elminster would win.
Hymn Posted - 11 Jan 2003 : 17:49:28
or they all get wiped out by that Orc army coming over the ridge.
Hymn Posted - 11 Jan 2003 : 17:46:45
Hmm, a good old fist fight. If Walker Boh new I think it was jujutsu he can do a an attack that is unblockable, well you could block it. If your attacker has two arms that is. The other two are just "old farts", here at least Walker should have some use of his young age.
Drizzt Do Urden Posted - 11 Jan 2003 : 17:00:06
Okay that is with weapons but who will win when there are no weapons, there weapons are going, who will when then ?
AraznBlair Posted - 10 Jan 2003 : 20:16:56
Though I like both Walker Boh and Gandalf, I say that Elminster will when. Walker is a Druid after all so he will have to be Neutral (though I must admit I'm not sure if in Terry Brooks world if alignment goes with class)so if he attacks it will be at both. Unless he sees that one is more powerfull than the other.

Between Elminster and Gandalf though. Clearly Elminster. He has Silverfire after all. El rules.
Trafaldi Posted - 10 Jan 2003 : 19:08:03
You also have to take in the consideration that all of them are more or likely exhausted from the battle with magic. So you would not know who would win because their effectiveness would go down in the battle.
Feanor_Karnil Posted - 10 Jan 2003 : 18:45:31
Though Gandalf may half Glamdring, it may prove to be ineffective against Elminster's +5 thundering longsword.
Hymn Posted - 10 Jan 2003 : 17:24:04

Mumadar Ibn Huzal Posted - 10 Jan 2003 : 17:16:13
Given the fact that all these wizards come from different worlds with different laws of magic, the discussion is something like comparing apples to pears... And even if one would translate these wizards into D&D terms to try and compare apples to apples, it is still only a matter of personal perspective.
Hymn Posted - 10 Jan 2003 : 16:55:53
There I would say that Gandalf has a advantage, his after all Glamdring.
Trafaldi Posted - 10 Jan 2003 : 15:58:07
Until we can actually see that battle their will really be no clear winner. They all are strong so it depends on which spells they use. But what will happen when they all run out of spells and they are all still standing?
Hymn Posted - 10 Jan 2003 : 15:06:53
I just hade an idea reading your text, correct me if I am wrong.

If there are more gods in Faerun than there's in Middle earth. Dosn't that meant that there are more power for use for the singular gods, henche more of the power. Just a thought. Walker Boh is a druid/mage given power by the dead druids if I remeber correctly.

I came up with another on today Belgarath (David Eddings) and Milamber (Pug of Stardock) (Raymond. E. Feist). Guess you could say that it was a quite day at work.
Drizzt Do Urden Posted - 09 Jan 2003 : 22:33:37
I don't really know who this Walker Guy is btw,
I (ofcourse) do know who Elminster and Gandalf are
Elminster is a mighty one chosen by Mystra, like Gandalf is somewhat
created by the Maia, and is some sort of half god or atleast in AD&D therms,
a Hero, but afterall the world where Elminster in lives has more Gods than the
world where Gandalf in lives, afterthat i think that there powers are somewhat
the same because they are 'Chosen' but afterthat I think Gandalf is more on his own
(because the Maia don't interfere that much) and Elminsters can easily use the powers
of his god Mystra, so i think that Elminster shall win.. (Btw don't hope that there any
tolkien hooligans here..
Hymn Posted - 09 Jan 2003 : 20:51:19
I don't know who would win, it's a though question. Walker Boh is is a really powerfull druid, but besting Gandalf and Elminister, I don't think so. I assume that it's a total war fight, the three at the same time. Gandalf is a wildcard, in LoTR we only see a glimpse of his powers at least that's what I feel. If you have read Stories from middle earth you know what I mean. Oh, yes and Elminister, he would probably win the fight, I guess. But what if Walker and Gandalf decides to team up. Would they bee powerfull enough to overthrow Elminister?
