I think there are several official examples in the tomes already in the library but I would love to see what the scribes of the fabled candlekeep think about this isue and know the lore that is known by them. |

Generally speaking Id say for small towns the the person or persons who rule likely act as Judge, Jury and Executioneer. Large cities or nation states likely have a seperate "judiciary" purely because there are to many crimes comited and subsequent trial to run for the rulers to participate in every case |
