My reflection on this is ".. mightier Realms mages...".
What do you think Realms might refer to? Faerun, Toril, Faerun & Kara-Tur, etc.

Isn't that how the show Dallas ended? Minor nit: Szass Tam created the dread rings, not Larloch.
My mistake. It's been so long since I've interacted with Realmslore that I'm forgetting which lich is which. |

I really hated how EG decided to reintroduce these Mages in the novel and then wrap it up as he did. I can't stand when old, available NPC characters are eliminated. Makes it so I have to think of some ridiculous story to un-kill them :P

I think both have also been killed off. One in an adventure and one as an off-hand mention in a novel. |

It likely wasn't his call. WotC decides what goes into novels, and they decide who lives and who dies.
Part of everything they've done since 4E came out was "some people think high-level NPCs are an issue, so rather than shifting our near-constant coverage of them, we'll just kill them all off." |

Posted - 13 Jun 2022 : 11:33:47 I figure, there is probably a mage of at least 20th level in every major region of the Realms. This is why it is rare for them to conquer large areas - they are not allied and they balance each other out and settle down, each in his or her own little corner.
These wizards have pretty much all discovered some way to not die. Whether its longevity or whatever.
More powerful wizards - around 30th level - are much rarer. |

That's 26, and we haven't even left Faerun.
Good list but why Nevron? |
