I'm creating a 4E "1480 DR" Human Scourge Warlock who is utlizing the Infernal Pact. I'm not super familiar with Baator around this timeline and now sure which devil/archdevil I should choose for my Pact.

I want my character to be somewhere between Good/Neutral. The Pact can be he offers souls in exchange for power. The souls can be acquired by evil creatures/men and funneled via his pact blade to whichever devil his pact is with.

Asmodeus or Mephistopheles seems like an obvious choice but possibly too far out of my characters league to have a pact with.

Any suggestion? Thank you

Malkizid would accept your human at good alignment but eventually you would have to suffer a alignment shift cause by some of the abilities he would tempt you with. Like he did with the vyshan.

I'd go with Glaysa, she's new to being an archdevil and looking for servants/allies on the material plane.

Hellfire is the creation of Mephistopheles, I think it would be the best choice among the Nine. If you think it's too far out of your character's league make a pact with one of baatezu nobles that serve him. Usually I think these kind of pacts are made with lesser devils in the name of their master.

Sooo, does it makes sense for a Hellbringer Warlock(specializes in fire) to have a Pact with Levistus, Prince of Stygia, Lord of the Fifth who commands ice devils and lives in a domain of ice and cold?

I am confused, a character good it would strike me as not doing a pack with an Evil creature, one neutral clearly might if the Evil of requirements of the pack is offset in such a way that the character can over all still be considered Neutral.

I'm going to agree with this... I'm not sure how one can trade the souls of others to an evil entity and not have an evil alignment... It shouldn't matter whether or not he's the one acquiring them; doing anything other than letting them go to their rightful afterlife is an evil act.

This isn't something finalized, just first thing that came to my head.

Levistus does seem like a great choice for the Human I want to make. I imagined my character tall with black hair and a goatee lol. I noticed that Stygia his domain is mostly ice covered, would this be something a Hellbringer Warlock(focusing on igniting his foes) be about?

I'm not too familiar with the names of lesser Demons and Devils of the Realms but what about the Pact being forged with a Greater Devil (I see devils making more pacts thatn Demons, but that's just me) and then, when the souls need dropped off it's done with a servant or package-boy so to speak for said Devil/Demon? I could see a greater Devil actually making an appearance when the Pact is forged but for the rest of the time not being bothered until the pact-bearer has gained some prestige or a name for themselves.

As such, I think Asmodeus makes a good choice for starters. For other suggestions, here's the FR Wiki about the 9 Archdukes of Hell... Archdevil

Also, I sort of like Lord of the Fifth: Prince Levistus

There again I have not done much with 4th Edition so maybe now now some Devils are aligned Good so making a pack easier for a Good character.

As for a named Devil, there you clearly would need to look at their goals and desires as to terms of a pack, what powers gained. However as you indicate some named are "too far out of my characters league to have a pact with" it clearly is possible you could select a minion Devil and choose your own name for him.

This is the best ideas I can offer right now.

Edited a typo.
