Since events are currently being processed, I thought I'd poll for interest.

Who'd be interested in attending a 2+ hour gathering of Realmsians at GenCon this year? If you came to the seminar last year, you may remember a number of authors and designers, both present and past, in attendance, talking all manner of things Realms.

What say you?

Cheers

Did we end up with a summary, audio, or video for this event?
Markustay Posted - 13 Feb 2013 : 21:54:47
On the off-chance I make it this year, maybe this time I won't stand outside the door for 10 minutes (because I didn't recognize Erik).

Then again, those Cthulhu folks next door were throwing one helluva party... they had a girl wearing a shoelace (just a shoelace - its was a VERY creative usage). Why can't we get a hotchick wearing a shoelace?

Then again, I can't think of anyone on the CK 'panel' wearing at thong.. at least, I wouldn't want to see it.

Maybe just for laughs.....

That's the plan!

That part I do recall. Lol.

Okay, so we are looking at getting off the ground a bit earlier so we might end a bit less late?

Hey all,

I've submitted the event for a tentative time slot of THURSDAY, 6-10pm (not that we'll necessarily go that long, but it's nice to have the space). I'm trying to avoid big conflicts like the ENnies, etc. And even if folks are going to the keynote (provided there IS a keynote this year), I'm hoping you'll be able to come to the seminar before leaving for the keynote.

Cheers

I will be there...again. 2012 CK was one of my all time GenCon highlights(off and on since '92)and easily my 2012 best!

thanks Erik!

Ah. I didn't pick up on that.

I apologise if my earlier reply came across as somewhat antagonistic.

I'm planning to attend, and would •love• to do a 'Keep Seminar.
Dalor Darden Posted - 17 Jan 2013 : 04:45:45
2012 I had to take the family to D.C. because I had promised...this year we are going to New York City (another "living on the East Coast" promise)...but it won't be at the same time as GenCon. We are going up there before we move to Washington State this March/April.

Soooo....

I plan to be at GenCon this year before my body falls apart or something! lol

Sorry, no shipping allowed. We'll just save them up until you can collect them in person! I can think of no better incentive to get you guys to Gen Con!
I'll pass on the Harper pins, thanx anyways. But a free plane ticket would be great incentive.

That might be alright for folk who live in the US... but for potential "GenCon-goers" like myself and Krash, who would have to arrange far more extensive travel means, makes this a rather difficult solution.

I second that!

Receiving a Harper Pin would be kind of cool... especially for those of us who can't attend.

Some well-known wizard sigils would be cool, as well, for designs of potential Seminar Pins.

That is most welcome news! I don't know if I've said so before, but I'd be happy to reimburse whoever has these for the shipping costs.

Oh, you do not know how much I'd love to have a Harper pin! (or three! )
Alystra Illianniis Posted - 15 Jan 2013 : 21:10:20
Strangle the Harpers? So would you include Elminster and the Sisters in that? Heathen barbarian!
Lord Bane Posted - 15 Jan 2013 : 20:34:34
Harpers? GAH! Scum of the Realms! Strangle them with the strings of their harps i say! (Not including WotC staff and Writers, pending if they renounce their false ways and repent for their crimes commited under the ill influence of the meddling rats that give the instrument a bad name.)

Hey all,

Well, it looks like there's a good bit of interest here, which is a good sign.

It is indeed possible we'll see this year's seminar filmed, as Matt mentioned above. If we do that, his will be the official film, and if I know Matt (and I think I do), it'll be a great piece.

You know... I have thought of that as well.

And then I think, he is probably also Elvis and Jimmy Hoffa.

Brian R. James Posted - 15 Jan 2013 : 16:17:01
You cannot fool us Alaundo. We all know you're really Ed in disguise!

I'm with CorellonsDevout, I'd love to see it in youtube... And with Mapolq, for although I have some friends who attend to GenCon every year, it's a bit expensive to me, especially now that I'm planning to expand my family!
Kris the Grey Posted - 14 Jan 2013 : 03:16:32
Erik,

Last year's event was a great.

You can count on me, the wife, and at least a couple of our friends being there again this year!
daarkknight Posted - 14 Jan 2013 : 02:55:00
After hearing about last year's GenCon and the CK seminar, I had decided that I definitely wanted to go. I'm still intending to do so.

That being said, if I'm there, I'm there at the seminar!

Sage, whereabouts are you visiting? We usually have RPG conventions in some places in Brazil, tipically during the winter recess. Not close to the clout of GenCon, though, and probably not worth it to be honest, unless you happen to be in the same city with some time to spare.

We're hoping to visit Teresina for a holiday, and then visit the Lady K's parents in Cuiabá.

I've heard about popular gaming conventions being held in Brazil before. We learned about them during our last trip to the country in October 2011. Unfortunately, we weren't able to attend any of them. Since we're projecting to visit sometime between June and October 2013, that would be winter time in Brazil, so...

The US is just too far away from Brazil, I'm afraid. I hope someday I'll have the means and will to attend a GenCon, but it's not going to be this year.
