Posted - 13 Dec 2003 : 03:34:13 Ok all, I have a very odd puzzle/question/poll...? I wish to know which of the Standard Character Classes ( Fighter, Barbarian, Wizard, Sorcerer, Druid, Cleric, Monk, Paladin, Ranger, Thief and Bard) is the LEAST liked, or which is the class that people look upon with the most hate/dislike/disdain...etc. For any given reason. Just wondering since every one has a favorite class I wonder which is the Neglected or hated amoung my fellow Scribes. |

Posted - 15 Jan 2004 : 22:13:03 Back to the discussion of paladins ...
In our game, we decided that Paladins are the Lawful (not lawful good) embodiments of ANY god. Clerics and Priests teach the faith, and Paladins enforce it, as it were. It would be hard to imagine this rule played out, though, with a Chaotic deity. We, at least, made the player choose a Lawful deity, to represent the dedication and organization level to a God.
Thus, a female drow paladin of Bane -_-;
But still, she makes a good go at it all. She is a force of Bane's desires. As such, it may be a little munchkiny though. Still, it makes for good Party Strife. |

Posted - 15 Jan 2004 : 21:16:47 Personaly, i've never really liked the Sorcerer/Wizard thing. They're not different enough. It's like the same class twice or something. And the psion...can we say sorcerer?
But I'm like most of you i really don't like monks. They are the powergamers delight. Taking themn epic is even worse,oh say vorpal strike. How does one go about literly knocking someone's head off with his bear hands |

Posted - 14 Jan 2004 : 20:12:37 You shall all crumble and fall before the might of the Dual-Classed Fighter/Mage! And as for your annoying little rodents; Hands of Fire should deal with them.
The least liked class, for my part, is the... *Ta-da-da-da* CLERIC! Yeah that's right! The cleric. Nerver liked them. The only thing their good for is healing. Who wants to heal when you can choose to cast hudge fireballs into the midst of the battle? So whati f your good at keeping peoepl alive, and crishing undead to dust. I'm good at keeping people DEAD and reviving undead! Mages pwn clerics any day. (well... not in early levels, mind you) |

Posted - 14 Jan 2004 : 11:36:02 I don`t like to play the druid or thief, I do not know why, i guess it`s just the.... i don`t know...
I think it depends a lot on the DM and how he manages to activate the players, or DM is realy good at give each player something personal in the campaign. something that makes the player strife to reach the goal of the campaign. I dont mean objects but on a personal level, people we meet, places we visit that kind of things.

Posted - 14 Jan 2004 : 10:39:28 Well I don't really have any favourites, I like them all the same except the Mage/Wizard/Sorcerer when you first start off cause they're weaklings and get killed easily but after levelling up they're alright. I used to think that the Bard was a really crappy class untill I started playing as a Bard and proved myself wrong. I agree with someone here that mentioned that the Bard was the least played class. Probably something about it's image.
Getting back to the point, I'd say hmmm... the least liked class would be hmmm... Barbarian. Of course they have physical stamina and strength, but they have brains the size of a pea. They can't do anything else but rush into battle and hack everything up. |

Ezindir, you should read Twilight Falling by Paul S. Kemp. It will explain shades for you in much more detail. And Alaundo, I beg forgiveness, my conduct was truly unruly.
Is it in the Forgotten realms series? |

Indeed, Shadowlord. In addition, I highly recommend the tomes from the Return of the Archwizards Trilogy in order to learn more of the Shades. |

No, he never died, he was just infused with the essence of shadow. He is a full blooded drow, but also a shade. Being a shade isn't a race, its more like an extension of oneself
I thougth that a shadow was and undead, a human or somthing else that has died and rised again? and what kind of shadow did infuse you then? |

Daggers?! Short Swords?! This is a library, not a battle arena

Posted - 04 Jan 2004 : 22:19:43 Their portfolio's are nearly the same, both being Gods of Thievery, Vhaeraun for the Drow Race, Mask for humans and others. They both accept my worship of two dieties, so long as it does not conflict with the interests of either god. And your backstab wound will heal fairly quickly. Remember that I am a shade, and shades are regeneratory creatures, Ezindir. Also, being able to emerge from the shadows at will, I think there is no possibility of you escaping before the scroll is MINE!!!! |
Ezindir the dark |
Posted - 04 Jan 2004 : 22:09:37 By the way, what do Vhaeraun think of you worshipping Mask and what do Mask think of you worshipping Vhaeraun? |
