Posted - 25 Sep 2012 : 06:08:22 Was just wondering if I'm the only person experiencing extremely slow page load times on the forums?
It's taken me about seven minutes to get in far enough to where I could post this question. |

Posted - 28 Sep 2012 : 03:22:54 I've been having the same problem for about a week with this site. It has been quite slow for some reason. Tonight is the fastest it's been. |

Posted - 27 Sep 2012 : 15:40:50 rjfras, I had the same problem last night (Pacific Time) too. I'd have mentioned it last night, but I couldn't get this page to load completely.
What's up with the internetz, I wonder? The problem doesn't sound like it's CK's servers. Hrm...
(Load speed is super fast this morning, by the way.) |

Posted - 27 Sep 2012 : 03:15:45 Well, I've been active at the same time, and still haven't encountered any slow loading ASP times or errors. If this were indeed a Candlekeep server problem, then I'd expect I'd also be affected... given my greater distance from the UK. |

Posted - 27 Sep 2012 : 01:50:26 it was doing pretty good last night but right now it's extremely slow again and the only members online right now are me and george. I know people could be on as guests or not logged in, but with only 2 members signed in, it can't be because it's overloaded.
I did another two traceroutes and got requests timed out and some pings not completing all (the ones with a * rather then a number) from hops in europe.

Last night, I just had to close it out, because I couldn't get but this one sole scroll to actually open up for me. |

Posted - 26 Sep 2012 : 07:08:58 I'm using Comcast out of Illinois (outside Chicago). Right now, the site is faster then it's been for me, but still slower then it used to be. It's just past 12:30am my time but other nights, this late, it's been much slower. When I responded to this topic earlier, it was horrible and somehow got multiple replies posted even though I hit submit once.
Also earlier when I would click the button to mark all the active topics read, it was refreshing so slow that by time it would refresh, there would be multiple updated topics rather then normally it's almost instantaneous and it's an empty search.
This is a traceroute I just did:

When I did a traceroute two nights ago, all the hops in europe were up between 200 - 400.
I'm off to bed now and work, but if it is slower again tomorrow when i get on, i'll do another tracert. |

Posted - 26 Sep 2012 : 04:20:49 I'm in the US, using UVerse at home, and not having a problem.
I think Verizon is our provider at work, and it's been good there, too. |

Posted - 26 Sep 2012 : 04:10:45 Well, I still maintain that this is indeed an ISP issue, because other users in countries far distant from the US aren't encountering any problems.
And, as I said earlier, the site's been running extremely fast for me lately, and I'm in Australia. I haven't had any ASP errors or slow-loading times since late August. |

Checking in with some of my friends in southern Asian locales, they've largely all reported few errors or slow loading times for ASP scripts. But a number of my US and Canada friend-folk are reporting very similar problems to what you've described here.
So I'm indeed starting to think this may be a local ISP issue. |

I'm having the same issues as you Jeremy. Been having them for about a week or so now.
I've tried Firefox, IE, Chrome, updated my flash, downgraded my flash, updated some other programs to see if it was affecting it, but it's only Candlekeep that has the issues (at least out of the sites I go to).
As I'm typing this, it still says "waiting for forum.candlekeep.com" at the bottom because it still has only loaded a couple of the replies in this topic and half of another. |

Posted - 25 Sep 2012 : 17:30:11 I do experience very slow loading times, but only in the evening hours. I assume that's when a lot of people are on. It could have something to do with my brouser, or something. It's not an issue though, really. |

For the last couple days I've been able to see forum posts (after a slow load time) and no background. I just figured you guys axed the background graphics to speed up page load time.

I would suspect as much. I've accessed from work and from two home computers without issue. |

Posted - 25 Sep 2012 : 11:00:07 I occasionally get a page that doesn't load, but it happens immediately and refreshing fixes it. This happens maybe 2-3 times a week.
Other than that, it's been working quite well for me. |

Posted - 25 Sep 2012 : 06:35:30 I can't say I've experienced any slow loading pages recently. In fact, I was just thinking earlier this morning that Candlekeep's been running smoothly for several weeks now.
And I'll note that I've accessed the site through multiple browsers -- SageBrowser, IE, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari -- and all with no issues regarding ASP loading times. |
