Posted - 08 Nov 2006 : 16:02:39 I am considering starting a new game for a play by post game in FR and i want to make it a political game where the PC have inherited a city, and all the political problems internally and externally that come with that . So the Question is what do you think the best city to have PC's gain control of would be, i was thinking a city state would work best, and i wanted something with some turmoil internally i can make most of that myself, as well as some externally now while i can make that up too i would love somewhere to start from first for my own personal sanities sake. Any ideas Scribes? |

Posted - 08 Nov 2006 : 17:40:32 Hello-
I've done a lot of reading up about Hills Edge - and one thing sticks out that might make this an ideal choice:
There is currently no 'Mayor', as they can't find anyone who would Want the job!
That being said - it is in a good proximity to numerous adventuring type sites, and has an enclave from Thay. The source I've read also state that there is no 'town guard' generally (save a few for the gates, and some tax-collector types (IIRC). Most 'protection' takes the form of personal hired guards - who do much of the 'policing' in the city.
Also - Hills Edge is growing. From earlier sources - the population was listed around 6000 or so - and more recent sources mark it at over 9000.
My campaign is being set there - and I'm having some fun with it at the moment. :)
