I am considering starting a new game for a play by post game in FR and i want to make it a political game where the PC have inherited a city, and all the political problems internally and externally that come with that . So the Question is what do you think the best city to have PC's gain control of would be, i was thinking a city state would work best, and i wanted something with some turmoil internally i can make most of that myself, as well as some externally now while i can make that up too i would love somewhere to start from first for my own personal sanities sake. Any ideas Scribes?

"Develop the latent abilities within you for that is your power alone. Psionics is the ultimate art of magic and you are its practitioner. Through lifelong dedication, strive to unite your will with your physical form to become one. Only through the unrestrained union of one’s mind and body can the magic of psionics truly be mastered. Throw off the yoke of any who would impose tyranny upon you. Likewise, do not ever force another to submit to your will. Free your mind, free yourself and you have only just begun the path to true psionic mastery. Free others, open their minds to the Invisible Art, and you will show them way to Auppenser."

Hello-

I've done a lot of reading up about Hills Edge - and one thing sticks out that might make this an ideal choice:

There is currently no 'Mayor', as they can't find anyone who would Want the job!

That being said - it is in a good proximity to numerous adventuring type sites, and has an enclave from Thay. The source I've read also state that there is no 'town guard' generally (save a few for the gates, and some tax-collector types (IIRC). Most 'protection' takes the form of personal hired guards - who do much of the 'policing' in the city.

Also - Hills Edge is growing. From earlier sources - the population was listed around 6000 or so - and more recent sources mark it at over 9000.

My campaign is being set there - and I'm having some fun with it at the moment. :)

I am collecting the D&D Minis. I would be more than willing to trade with people. You can send me a PM here with your email listed - and I can send you my minis list. Thanks!

Successfully traded with Xysma!

I was going to say Hillsfar. It makes sense to inherit it since the zhents just changed things up there.
I think dhomal has an interesting suggestion though since it is a really intriguing city.

Hill's Edge is in the Western Heartlands.

"Instead of asking why we sleep, it might make sense to ask why we wake. Perchance we live to dream. From that perspective, the sea of troubles we navigate in the workaday world might be the price we pay for admission to another night in the world of dreams."
