How would you guys go about rewarding a player who instaed of battle got experience for teaching in his profession(and class)???

For lectures: 1 exp per level per person per hour.

Posted - 02 May 2012 : 00:19:39 I would go with his earnings as Experience...but allow the character to also do "research" in his downtime to perhaps earn some non-tangible things such as XP he could use toward creating magic items or something. It really all depends on the rules you are using. I could come up with some ideas if you list which rules. |

Posted - 01 May 2012 : 23:33:15 This is an interesting question. I do not recall any rule set that dealt with it.
The best idea I can offer is based on student performance. That is as student uses taught magic and earns experience points, a small bonus should be awarded to the one that taught the magic. Not sure how it would reflect in balance of game, but in part experience points are awarded for success.
Another other option of course would be awarding based on amount of gold paid for training, 1st Edition rules might apply here.
Might come up with a few other ideas, however these right now are my best offers of how a teacher gains experience. |
