I would interpret the whole thing as:
We (WotC = the Red Dragon) go poopy on everyone and eat whoever we please and only leave the brainless sycophants who chant praise to us in peace. We only love shinies and dont care about the rest!
This is obviously my personal assessment and in no way the true meaning behind it.
Mod edit: Watch the language, please. |

Cartoons and 'turd' jokes.
Wecome to the Pokémon-generation edition.
I suppose if the Dragon is symbolic for D&D/WotC, then the 'eating of children' part was rather telling.
Why the Russian in the Pokemon? |

Posted - 21 Sep 2008 : 12:16:19 Funny, but the single troll is not much telling about the whole situation on the net. Anywhere I look, people complain about the changes in the 4e. The troll is the highest on encounter list... |

I had a college english professor who loved to do the same, he would tell a little self-depricating joke or two to poke fun at himself to lessen the attention of his next action, which was to tear down some poor freshman in front of the whole class.
It is a nice diversionary tactic that sometime works to cover motives.
But I am sure that's not wotc's intent here

Posted - 11 Sep 2008 : 21:25:03 So, does the first dragon-dump (on the shiny elf with his beautiful white stallion) represent WotC's soiling of the Realms into the stinking heap of rubbish that is now 4$ Realms?
(i.e. big pile of turd falling from the sky = Spellplague?)
LOL!

Mocked if you do, mocked if you don't. There's no-where to hide!....
Apart form perhaps the middle ground. It should be safe enough there.
Good point! |
Christopher_Rowe |
Posted - 11 Sep 2008 : 16:50:39 Well, "mock" covers a whole continuum of attitudes and intentions, of course. Unless you're talking about Mock's Hold in Malaz City. That place is scary! |

You're right, Ashe. And people are falling for it too. Sort of corporate brain-washing.
After a couple of views of the video [sarcasm]I was tempted to change my whole opinion of 4ed - "Hey! They're laughing at the folks that don't like 4ed. I don't want them to laugh at me. I better change my stance immediately. 4ed ROCKS!" [/sarcasm]
Nice try Wizards, nice try.

Very not-so hidden. I'm honestly not sure if that should insult me or not. Granted, I've never 'trolled' the boards looking for an argument, but I had been on the boards looking for more information on why I should have purchased 4th Edition (which I did, but I'm not going to use).
It's actually kind of smart of them to alienate the trolls who dislike 4th Edition so publicly, but it might also push those that aren't trollish from switching to 4th.
I think the only folks who would be "offended" are the "trolls" the video was spoofing. I had a good laugh when I read, "where's my Gnome PC" as the troll creature was typing on the computer. fun stuff. |
