Character
Description and History
The Gnome called Lilu lived in a travelling trading cimmunity for
many years of his life. He felt trapped by these surroundings and
desp[ite mving he always felt as if he were staying still. The difficulty
with his life was that it was comfortable and safe and without challenge.
It was easy to perusade any Northern Fool or Southern Merchant to
nbbuy whatever peice of useless junk he happened to have. And it
was equally easy to buy it off them for a very low price. He felt
this was his special talent, he was proud of the fact that he was
an extremly smooth talker and a very charasmatic Gnome. He collected
scrolls that he bought and he began to study the magical arts and
he also developed some thieving skills he had learnt as a child,
he was interested to see what power he might someday have, away
from his mundane life. His life changed forever when he was speaking
to a Mage in a bar in an almost deserted village. The Mage was shocked
to find that the ring that Lilu wore was in fact a Ring of Human
Influence and that that was the cause of his success in buisness.
Lilu could not believe it, he was talentless! He slammed his fist
on the table and the Mage started to laugh at him. What an idiot!
The Mage cast Hold Person on Lilu and removed the ring keeping it
for himself. When Lilu was released the Mage had gone. Lilu decided
to seek revenge. He went to his camp and demanded that his trading
followers rise up with him and fight this injustice but the rest
of them were all happy, they said things like this happened all
of the time. Get over it.
No. Lilu was going to have his revenge, saw which way the tracks
of the Mage's horse went and he saw that they went to a nearby city.
He began to run towards the City, his jewels and money held about
him, determined to find revenge. When he reached the city he found
a Thieves Guild who were williung to help him. He paid them to find
and kill this Mage and return his ring. They brought the ring back
and the leader of the guild put it on himself, he liked it. He thanked
the Gnome and sent him on his way. Lilu was furious and was determined
to do what was neccessairy to get it back, he needed power and he
knew that he would get it.
In a cunningly thought out campaign Lilu was able to gain the support
of many factions who opposed the Thieves Guild and ally them to
eachother. He even gained the service of the hated mage's golem!
When his plan was done he had gained the Ring of Human Influence
Back along with many jewels, moneys, peices of art and magical items.
These he carried with him and set himself up not only with various
members of the extinct Thieves Guild but also in the Tower of the
Mage who had set him upon this path. Using his jewels and the Thieves
and the Golem he perfected his thieving skills, learnt some excellent
spells and furthered his magical ability and amassed himself a fortune.
Just when he thought things could get no better he decided to flee,
he knew that many people may want revenge and may seek out his weakness,
it had been many years but now his Guild was strong, strong enough
to be extremly desirable. On the spot he left, taking only what
he could carry with him and in his wagon. He returned to the road.
He was followed.
The man who followed him did not intend to kill him though, the
man was Zorek. Zorek was setting up an organisation to gain power
throughoutt the lands. He had watched Lilu and knew him to be exactly
the apprentice he needed.
Under the tutilige of Zorek Lilu became a power to be reckoned
with, he furthered his illusionairy arts and his Thieving Skills
until he gained tha bilities he has now. Zorek was possibly even
better at manipulating situation than Lilu but Zorek made a mistake.
Zorek and his organisation was attacked, Lilu escaped with what
he could gather buty Zorek was killed. Lilu as a mark of respect
name dhimself the heir to Zorek, and renamed himself Zorrek II.
He gradualy gained for himself all of the equipment he now has and
he gained power in a few cities across the land and now he plans
to gain power wherever his desire leads him....
