Description and History
Welfran was raised within the walls of Candlekeep, his father a wise priest of Oghma and his mother, whom he never knew, a half-elven mage from Silverymoon. He though schooled in the Oghmian faith from a young age,
Welfran soon showed his uncanny abilities as a mage. Welfran' s father realized that his son wouldn't become a priest as he did, and he arranged for
Welfran to be tutored by the great Tethtoril, at the tender age of eight. Welfran quickly became a skilled spellcaster, and by his early teens, longed to go off in search of his mother, and had the means to do so. But his father and teachers insisted that Welfran receive a complete education, though welfran knew that this was not true; he had already surpassed the learning of many a pupil of
Candlekeep. At sixteen years of age, Welfran journeyed from the walls of
Candlekeep. Little did either party know, that the Bhaalspawn Olochi, who had been cast from Candlekeep when they had learned of his heritage, would soon cross the path of the young mage. They quickly became friends, for they had known each other in passing when Welfran was merely a lad. and together they embarked on an adventure that decided the fate of the kingdoms of
Amn and Baldur's gate. Welfran and Olochi parted ways, with Welfran deciding to travel north, to Waterdeep, and then to Silverymoon, to learn of his mother. |
