Character
Description and History
Vegazeal is frol the forest of Dumakan on
Graecer. Although he has notactually discovered any proof to the
fact, Vegazeal is not of the Forgotten Realms. While he has a fair
idea that something has changed in his home would of Aeron, he has
not yet discovered anything to proove to himself that he is on another
world.
So far his world differs from the realms quite a bit. On Aeron,
the drow aren't as subject to recism and predjiduce as they are
on Faerun. For only the surface elves hate them, even then there
are records of good of heart drow living with the tribes of the
surface elves. Vegazeal was hoping to do exactly this when he left
his underground home. He had a reason for leaving his home that
he is reluctant to speak of. He could stand the cruel and evil female
dominated society, but when he was trained in the use of hand axes
right before he was to face the trials he became suspicious. For
hand axes were the weapons of the driders of his house, it was because
of his fear of becoming a drider like his two older brothers that
he fled to the surface. A cowardly act that he can not forgive himself
for. He had vowed to beat the trials so that he could avenge his
two brothers torment.
Little does he know that his brothers, and indeed himself, were
to become driders simply because their alignment was known to their
queen. No matter how good he would have done in the trials, Vegazeal
would have become a drider.
The last memory of his world Aeron was of him touching a shimmering
mirror. There was a Brief flash and he appeared in a forest without
any boots on. There he was taken in by a druid (Illandra) who was
in shadow dale to meet with a Druid who Vegazeal replaced when he
came through the mirror.
Illandra was travelling back to the moonshae isle and with her
mission of bringing home the other druid uncomplete, she decided
to take along this mysterious drow elf, much to her dissmay.
Through out his travels he has been confused by the number of gods.
His world has but a few and he thinks that all of the 'changes'
in his world have come about because of these new gods. He has emmence
dislike for the all the gods except one, Tymora. On a misguided
adventure, Illandra and an illusionist named Rendolf were slain.
Vegazeal and his other party member, Ahab the Paladin of Tempus,
got the two to tymora's temple in shadowdale. Illandra was ressuracted
giving Vegazeal the faith in a god whose power of luck he would
need to get back to his own world.
After this he was given his payment for the misguided adventure.
During the adventure, the party had ventured into a dragons cave,
not thinking most of the party stole many things from the cave.
Vegazeal, not wanting the wrath of a dragon, took only one copper
piece. Their payment for this adventure was some of the things they
stole. Vegazeal was given One copper piece. Needless to say he was
angry to recive such a small payment, but upon finding out it's
power his mind once again thought of Tymora.
A few days later at Rendolf's funeral, His mind once again to Tymora.
As Rendolf lay on his prye a large and fearsome deamon came from
his mouth. After it was slain, Rendolf rose again. Ahab saw something
a little more to Rendolf though. Around his neck he wore the invisible
chains of Cyric, these represented one whose soul was trapped in
Cyric's realm and forever would be unless they could be removed.
The only way to remove the chains was with a weapon of the gods.
They were given two choices to seek these weapons. The first Torm's
hammer, nestled some where in Anauroch. The second Tymora's bow,
situated on the sword coast. Vegazeal knew as soon as he heard lady
lucks name. that the bow was the one to seek.
Upon reaching the bow, it was stolen before the group could use
it to free Rendolf's soul. The chase for the bow led them to Caer
Glenwich, a town that was soon to be over run by Drow. Upon finding
the bow again, they learned that Mask was prepairing to open a gate
way to allow the drow to enter the city. Before he could do thid
however, one of his minions slew him. He cut free the chains of
cyric and opened the gate way allowing the drow entrance. While
he did not give his name, Illandra suspects that this new god of
theives is the embodyment of Daryth of Calimshan. The black figure's
weapon was a scimitar and his parting words were; "Tell that
welp Kendrick that his beloved town is next."
In the ensuring battles with the drow while saving the city, Vegazeal
met another drow by name of Dagirdale Maveraxaspin. He did not recognise
the drow but he became further confused as to where on Aeron, or
Toril as Rendolf had called this world, he was.
While camping, Rendolf went into the forest to practice archery
with Tymora's bow, his intentions were to keep the god's weapon,
unlike Vegazeals which were to return the weapon of the only god
who seemed to care for his plight. While out in the forest, Rendolf
was approached by Tymora herself, she requested the bow and Rendolf
handed it over to her. Then her image shifted into that of a hawked
nose man, Cyric's plans to steal the bow of Tymora had worked with
relative ease. Vegazeal was not happy to learn of the bows loss
and almost put his sword into Rendolf for such a stupid act. He
vowed to kill this Prince of lies everyone spoke of, not knowing
Cyric was of godly power. When told of Cyric's powers, Vegazeal
still kept his vow. He would see Tymora's bow returned to it's rightful
place. "Be damned with these bickering gods, Tymora is undiserving
of such trickery and decite. For she has shined upon me many a time
and I shall walk to the ends of what ever world this may be in order
to see her bow back in the hands of her church. And to see Cyric
fall from his tainted grace. Luck be with me, Tymora shine upon
me."
