Character Description
and History
Raven is quite tall for a human, usually wears black or dark colored
clothes, carries a bag slung over his shoulder and an elegant looking
Katana (favorite weapon) in a sheath on his back. He normally travels
with a Grey/white wolf named Gyena always at his side. He will normally
talk with no one but a fellow nightblade or a thief in a high status
among the people. He has a slim figure and walks with an aura of
authority strung about him. He wears a cloak over his dark featured
clothing to help hide his identity andhelp him blend with a crowd.
Raven was born in the outerplanes, right on the edge near the inner
planes. His parents are unknown to him, the only parents he knew
were a Master magic-user and a thief he met when he was a child.
As he grew up he went thorugh training to become an assassin.
He was successful for a time until he decided to become part of
a guild he chooses to keep nameless. When the boy turned 16, the
Maro (master) sent the boy away when he was done his training and
told him to come back in 3 years.
During those three years, Raven Quickly explored to territory
he saw and longed to explore during his years of training. He saw
vast kingdoms and great deserts, always curving around the obstacles
thrown at him during his travels. He was hired by nobles to assassinate
heirs and other nobles higher in society.
He worked for many local thieves guilds and even trained at a
mage guild. At the Mage guild he learned to control fire, water,
and earth to his advantage. He learned to create a prismatic shield
around himself, to teleport to places, and he learned to cast spells
to cover his tracks when he pereformed one of his assassinations
or thefts.
He gained his Katana through killing a highly respected thief
(whom he challenged, of course) and he chose that weapon as his
prize and reward. Raven was becoming a big name in low societies.
Many fantasic tales have been told of him (which are most likely
unknown to this world).
When the three years were extinguished, Raven returned to the
Nightblade guild to find it in a pile of ruins. Raven was crushed,
for days on end he wandered around the rubble, searching for something
that would tell him which noble it was. He picked up his old Maro's
scarf, and under it was a stone tablet. The Tablet stated, "Do
you like what I've done with the place" --Loki's disciple
Jinhan.
Jinhan was an old childhood hate. He was a fellow student at the
guild of Nightblades who walked out after being humiliated by Raven
one year before he himself was cast away for three years to explore
the land for his knowledge. Raven, infuriated by that note and by
the fact that Jinhan had chosen his enemy deity, ran to the city
of Waterdeep, searching for Jinhan.
Nothing has been heard of Raven since then. But it is said that
he still wanders the world searching for the vagabond named Jinhan.
Raven longs for the day Jinhan decides to show himself so he could
kill him. But until that day, no one may see this enchanting personality
until the task is done.
Currently his location is unknown, but rumor says he may have
started a very secretive and new guild to train some recruits who
wish to learn the art of the nightblade.
