Grebeir
Marendais was found an orphan inside the city of Eversult. He was taken in my Borodin and
his wife Maeve and raised among their other two children. grebeir spent most of his youth
tending the horses his father was in chrge of in the city stable. While the young boy
sought to join the local militia, his vision of the future quickly changed upon his
fourteenth birthday when he found himself set upon by foul undead. As they wer about to
catch the young man, the rising sun of dawn forced them away. From that moment, Grebeir
devoted his life to the god of the dawn: Lathander.
For many years he studied in the church of Lathander and became a mighty crusader. He
eventually joined a rag-tag band of adventurers based out of the city of Arabel. After
many adventurers the group acquired the Green Grifffon Tavern, which became their base of
operations. Many times Grebeir was called on to serve the nation of Cormyr. His sense of
duty to his friends even led this rejoicer in the dawn to the land of the endless night:
the Underdark. Here he recieved guidance from Lathander he must work to end the threat of
the dracolich Dregoth.
For years Grebeir and his close friend Alleric strove to destroy the foul Cult of the
Dragon and work ever closer to the dracolich. Near his 30th year Grebeir, along with his
friends, slew a mythical beast that threatened to ravage all of Cormyr. For this he was
knighted and received land to one day start his own temple to his diety. Unfortunately,
Grebeir would never see his shrine to Lathander. While fighting a green dragon, Grebeir
sought to heal heal his closest friend Alleric who was close to death. While his friend
was able to avoid the dragon's mighty tail, Grebeir took the blow and went sailing through
the air. Upon landing he died in a power blast as a vial of Oil of Impact exploded in his
bag. While Grebeir did die, his friends were able to complete his quest and destroy the
foul Dregoth and release the dragon within his shield.
Before his death, Grebeir Marendais was a sight to behold. While a full beard covered
much of his face, it could not cover the many scars from his travels. Foul scars on his
neck and right cheek joined with an energy drain scar on his left cheek showed this half
elf was no stranger to combat. While his companions jeered him often, Grebeir took great
pride in his colorful armor and cloak. His glowing pink hammer was never far from his
hand. In addition, the Green Griffons did not share his love of the dawn and often
lamented his morning prayer sessions as the sun was just breaking the horizon.
