Character Description and History

Celeborn was originally a native of Oerth (Greyhawk), the son of a noble knight of Furyondy and a Grey-elven noblewoman of Celene whom he rescued from a cabal of Iuz cultists. At first, they lived together in the Wild Coast, but when he was slain defeating an orcish horde invading from the Pomarj, she was forced to return to her own people along with her 3 sons-Mithrendil (the dutiful eldest), Quevalen (the rebel) and Celeborn (the youngest). After he finally came of age, he set out to win fame, fortune and knowledge, mainly to prove himself to his elven kin, who never truly regarded he or his brothers as anything but inferior half-breeds.

Not long after, he was unwittingly drawn into an epic, world-shaking struggle for power instigated by a powerful human warrior-archmage (of the Ruthalion noble house & his distant cousin), who was seeking to win divinity by challenging several of Oerth's deities (and succeeding). Celeborn was mysteriously (divinely) transported to an alternate Prime world-the savage north of Faerun.

Three days after awkening on the edge of Neverwinter Forest and exploring his new surroundings, he met and joined a small company of adventurer's who hred him to investigate the origins of an assasination attempt on them sent by an ally of the foe they had most recently defeated, and so began a series of epic quests and intrigues in which this fellowship, called "the Alliance" gained great fame, power, notoriety and rulership of a new and thriving town located just south of Neverwinter Forest and between the High Road and the Long Road linking the cities of the "Lord's Alliance".

Then came the Time of Troubles, with it's wracking cataclysms and divine intrigues, during which the Alliance's town, called "Hillcrest", with it"s army (small, but superbly well-trained) managed to turn the tide of an invasion by a vast and diverse horde of humanoids from the Spine of the World won them great respect and gratitude fom many of the Lord's Alliance towns.Following the climax of that tribulation, the band found themselves embroiled in the machinations of an ancient, evil and very powerful lich in which Celeborn and one other comrade, named Eldar-the druid/mage were forced into a fateful contract with the Master Lich, to surrender all of their worldly possessions and Experience/Life levels in exchange for the gift of Immortality or become his slaves for all eternity. They chose everlasting life, if only to be free from bondage to this terrible fiend. Thus, even though his levels are starting over and he has lost much of his former magic and wealth, he no longer ages, cannot suffer from disease or aging, level-draining attacks are only temporary and regenerate at the rate of 1 exp. level per day, and he regenerates HP at the amazing rate of 3HP/round (minute) - even after reaching -10 hit points. He can only be physically slain by another immortal, extra-planar being, such as an aasimon, greater tanar'ri or baatezu, etc. and even this will only banish him to the home plane of his patron deity (Odin/Valhalla) for up to 100 years, after which he may return to the Prime again.
