The following text is a description by Wizards of the Coast:

'Having escaped her gilded cage in the heavens, Aliisza willingly joined the angel who had kept her captive on a quest to stop the priest of the god of murder from helping bring about the death of the goddess of magic, mostly in order to get to know her son, whom the angel had stolen from her and raised as his own. But they failed. Now, stranded amongst demons she can no longer trust, Aliisza finds herself torn between her allegiances to her son, her lover, and the angel who set her free.

If there was one good thing that came of the goddess of magic's death, it was that the angel who tricked him into binding himself into servitude was forced to free Kaanyr Vhok. Now he is finally in a position to escape with Aliisza and strike back against their angelic captors. There's only one problem: Aliisza has changed sides. Furious, Kaanyr is determined to show her the weakness of her ways the only way he knows how. To do alone what they should be doing together. To help the demonic hordes storm the gates of heaven, and wreck revenge both for holding him captive and for stealing Aliisza's heart.

The gods of the Forgotten Realms play a deadly game, and more than one god may fall before the end of it. But what will befall the followers of those gods, and what dark forces will arise to take advantage of their distraction? When the stakes are high enough to make an angel question his god and a demon think of saving something beyond her own skin, the fallout will shake the heavens, and the world will be changed forever.
