Most people would say that this book is very good in itself because it is written by R.A. Salvatore and about one of the Companions of the Hall. But what made it excellent was the story of how Wulfgar deals with his problems and his struggles along the way.

(SPOILER!!)

The way he falls to rogue status and his life in Luskan intrigued me, as did his friendship with Arumn Gardpeck and Morik the Rogue. I really liked Morik, (I found his wit and concern mostly for himself humorous) and his impersonation of "Lord Brandenburg" while he was in Auckney. I also enjoyed the appearances of captain Deudermont. I rather think Lady Meralda was a bit stupid, though, in how she handled her situation. But overall I really enjoyed reading this book, and I encourage anyone who has already read the books before it to pick this one up.
