I don't want to "own" any sentient creature. I have a cat, but he's my companion, not chattel. |

Now a nymph able to polymorph into a faerie dragon seems interesting.
On the other side I would trade them for my cat and a permanent unseen servant. A talking Muskrat with a tendency to quote philosophy would be nice; yep come to think of it that would be my choice. |

I'm with 'lyrna on this one. Apart from me not having a cat that is. |

Victor, that is a horrendous thought -- I cannot even imagine what you would do that poor creature in that tortur... *ahem* "laboratory" of yours. I have seen your rats, and they're vicious beasts that should be exterminated, all of them! |

A golem for sure. A non-sentient creation of limitless strength which I can control completely? Why choose anything else? |

An Azymith. Cutest darn creature in the whole realms. And it would be my companion and I would feed it berries. |

A dragon, of course. Everyone wants to have his own dragon. |

Since I am against enslaving intelligent races, that leaves golem or undead. And after awhile, undead begin to smell, so I went with golem. |

A dragon, but he would be my friend... and I would hug him...and pet him...and name him George.

Anyone who likes to read something that's really dark and gritty and completely awesome ought to read The Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks. You can check out a little taste at www.BrentWeeks.com I should probably warn you, though, that it is definitely not PG-13 :-D
He also started a new Trilogy with Black Prism, which may even surpass the Night Angel Trilogy in its awesomeness.

What would you feed your pet demi god? And I don't even want to think about the litter box.
There are a few creatures that I think would be pretty cool to have.
The Elven Cat, The Change Cat, and those little winged cats that hang out all around Eveningstar are cool. But my favorite is definitely The Blink Dog. These animals are all semi-intellingent so of course I wouldn't keep them against their will (and very seriously doubt that anyone could even if they wanted to), but I would definitely feed them and let them stay in my house if they chose to do so.
Also having a golem whould be very cool and really useful as long as it wasn't one of the gross ones like flesh or bone. |
