Is there a 2nd. Ed. AD&D sourcebook (or any other source) in which she is covered a bit more extensively than in the FRCS? I need to portray her as the GM soon and I'd like to know what makes her tick. Thanks for the help :)

I may be wrong, but I think she was first introduced in Cloak and Dagger, which was the last 2nd Edition Sourcebook produced. That has a little on her rise.

Coulda swore she didn't make an appearance until 3e.... but could be wrong.

For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

I don't recall seeing her until 3E either.

Perhaps you were thinking of Teldorn Darkhope?

The novel The Farthest Reach features Scyllua briefly beginning on page 121 (I think that's her first appearance in the book). It gives a good impression of her overall bearing and a glimpse into her personality.

Ah! Found it. Page 16 in Cloak and Dagger.

quote:
A minor uprising among disgruntled elements of the Zhentilar is put down quickly and ruthlessly by a young, mysterious female officer named Scyllua.

Then, on page 18.

quote:
Lord General Ulgrym, Commander of the Zhentilar, promotes the young warrior-officer Scyllua.. to be his aide-du-camp

While her last name isn't given, I find it unlikely that the Zhentilar had two officers by the name of Scyllua suddenly come to prominence at the same time!

It's also good to know I didn't go temporarily mad.

As I recall, Duane Maxwell and Sean Reynolds did most of the work on Scyllua. For a definitive first mention, you might try asking them.
