I just finished revising my Hordelands map. My computer has been down for three weeks otherwise I would have had this up sooner.
http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/56143370/
The text below the maps discusses some things I added, and also a slight problem I had with the region between Semphar and Kara-Tur. I also had to leave out three minor towns in northern Semphar do to room; sorry. If you spot any other mistakes please let me know, and I will make whatever changes are neccesary.
Next Up - IMPILTUR!!! (The untold story)
Enjoy -- - Mark
P.S. - This, like all my maps, I give permission to CK to host, and anyone else who wishes to copy or use as they see fit.

Interesting, Markus. I notice you're still using the older FR logo for the map. Any particular reason?
As for the Impiltur map... I hope you're hounding George with plenty of questions to make sure everything will come out just "right."

The Older logo was just because I liked it over the newer 'no-frills' map keys, and also it has a nice 'retro' feel. Since my maps are a marriage of 2e and 3e, I thought it appropriate.
As far as 'hounding George'... it's more the other way around.
Technically, I would call this a 'joint project', because it will include all of George's Lore LEFT OUT of his wonderful Dragon article; I feel honored that he has entrusted this to me.
PS - And I just thank God I got my computer running again today, otherwise EVERYTHING - my maps, research, E-mail exchanges, writing projects, custom Photoshop textures, etc... would have been gone. Tomorrow I'm backing it all up... just in case it happens again. |

Thank You.
BTW, there is a newer corrected version of my Erlkazar Map at my site which includes many locales left off the original, as well as a map scale, so feel free to 'update' the one you have posted here at CK. |

I'll second that, it would be a nice touch and a well-deserved one. |

Great job Markustay. And great to see the good old logo again; I still don't agree about the change of that one. |

Your map is a welcome contribution to me and my campaign since WotC seems intent upon ignoring all alnds east of the "unapproachable" east.

Wow. Just WOW. I love your maps. By chance will you be doing any of Kara Tur? If not, what program are you using, as I'd make one myself if I could.

I use Photshop. I lifted many of the textures from the official maps, and thats how I gave them an 'official' feel. I also 'cheat' quite a bit, by stealing terrain off of the official maps and rotating, size changing, and shading them in such a way as to differentiate them from the originals. I am now also using a custom map icon set which I started creating last night, because I needed icons for smaller maps because of two 'assigned' projects. I can thank Candlekeep for forcing me to stop being lazy and learn vector graphics.
I plan on doing the entire planet eventually, but right now I'm hoping to just finish the main continent (Faerūn, Hordelands, Kara-Tur, and Zakhara) by the end of the year. I just did a quick work-up of the Utter East the other day, so you will see locations from both kara-Tur and Zakhara on the map.

I had an original, but it deviated a little too much from the map that is hosted here (not that that map had much detail). I'd like to thank Sage for helping me recreate the current iteration with his infinite knowledge of Realmslore. I haven't added the map key, scale, and compassrose yet, because I'm waiting to see what people think before it's 'done'.
If it meets with everyone's approval I will polish it up and it can be hosted here as well. I didn't read the novel about this region, so I did the best I could. There are three forests which I added and the names are all my creation. Also the Konig and Grendel Mountains were named by me, although the ranges themselves are canon (from what I can derive from four different maps). The unamed swamp was also my add, but the four nations are canon. Esbresh is a canon city and appears on early maps AND was mentioned in The North, but the city of Konigburg was my add (the country needed 'something'). Lastly, Langdarma I placed in an un-named valley that can be seen on the edge of the map that came with Ronin Challenge. I figure that was the best location considering the information given me by Sage.

Ah yes, the hounding re an Impiltur map has indeed been from my end, and I thank Markustay for his generosity in considering such a project. The map that accompanied my Dragon article was small and somewhat cramped. I know that Markustay will do it justice. Before he's done, I'll see if we can provide some other places not mentioned previously so that we can pad out some more lore on the place.
