As some of y'all might know, I have a forum dedicated to Chaulssin. However, I am lacking info about the city and her powerful masters. While I know the names of the Jaezred Chaulssin members and some of their stats, I would like to know more about them.
Can anyone help me with obtaining further info about my favorite Drow group??

The Underdark sourcebook has a few tidbits on them, though these were changed somewhat to reflect the events in Resurrection. The House Leaders are listed in Dragons of Faerûn. You also find a little on the Jaezred Chaulssin in the Character Profile: Nimor Imphraezl by Richard Baker at WotC. And Eric tell us -

Sigh.

It's really a giant chunk of text from Eric. When it finally becomes available, I think everyone will be quite satisfied. |

All I can say is that it is significantly bigger than most WEs. This is probably also the reason it's taking so long. |

I don't see that there is enough interest for such a trilogy. |

-The only new material (and, honestly, it's not official or very much) is some further details of the exploits of the Jaerzred Chaulssin in obscure places such as Jhachalkhyn, Dusklyngh and Karsoluthiyl that will be written up in Elves of Faerûn and posted within the week. Karsoluthiyl is already up, and the other two are pending. |

@ Wooly: I believe that there are plenty of fans that want to see this trilogy be written. FR has covered almost every group there is, yet there are no novels based on them alone. I think it would make for a exciting read.
@ Dagnirion: I look foward to readin the new material. |

-I'll be honest, I agree with him. They're an okay group. I, personally, don't find them that interesting. Were there to be some kind of novel series that dealt with organizations, like there was the Fighters series, and the Wizards series, then, maybe, there'd be the possibility of a stand-alone novel, maybe. They'd have to get in line behind organizations that (I feel) are more deserving of such spotlight, though, like the Cult of the Dragon, for example.
-Also, keep in mind, the Jaezred Chaulssin might not exist anymore, in the future. Things that aren't mentioned specifically as being gone do still exist, until explicitly stated that they're gone, but all it takes is a single line by an author/designer to say, "In XXXX DR, the Jaezred Chaulssin disbanded", and that's the end of them.

I'm not that interested in this group.
That said, WotC is putting out novels about lots of other things I'm not interested in, like the Abolethic Sovereignty. |

Obviosuly there will be some that are not interested in them, however, I feel that they do deserve some novels. I also hope they will not be disbanded. After all, they are still working to overthrow Lloth's rule on the Drow. Such an admirable goal. |

Are you sure they are with all the hoopla that's gone on with the Drow Pantheon? Their main support was Vhaeraun, who was killed off in the deicides of the last year. |
I actually DO know everything. I just have a very poor index of my knowledge.

Well, I've not encountered many of these fans. I can only think of a handful of people that have expressed any real interest in them.
And there are things that plenty of fans have specifically said that they want to see -- like a novel about Bane's (supposed) return. People have been asking for that for years. And it appears that our chances of getting that novel are slightly higher than our chances of finding a pacificist priest of Tempus, or an agoraphobic priest of Shaundakul. |

Either way, with the move to eliminate those who oppose Lolth, it's not a hopeful sign for a group that does that. If deities that opposed her fell, what's going to keep a small group of mortals around when they try opposing her? |

-The Jaezred Chaulssin was founded by the Church of Vhaeraun and House Jaezred in the city of Chaul'mur'ssine Plane of Shadows, to prevent violence between different factions, mainly the Church of Vhaeraun and House Jaezred. So, in that manner, they are related to Vhaeraun. |

Wrong. House Jaezred was later formed after Vhaeraun came to all the leaders in a shared dream telling them that they were to be punished for defying Lloth. When they returned to Chaulssin, they formed the House of Hidden Masters and called themselves the Jaezred Chaulssin to spite their former Shadow Dragon slavers. After they formed the Jaezred Chaulssin, they started distancing themselves from Vhaeraun. As I said before, only one of them stayed a Priest of Vhaeraun and that was Xorthaul Barriath.
The reason why they distanced themselves from Vhaeraun is because they did not want to be part of the fued that was between Lloth and her son. Granted, some Chaulssinyr do follow Vhaeraun, however, the Revered Grandfather does not want any form of religion to dictate what they do. |

Wrong.
-Not exactly.
-Vhaeraun commanded the residents of Chaulssin to flee the city in 734 DR, the Year of Shared Visions, warning them of the army coming to dispose of them, heretics in the eyes of Lolth's priestess', due to the city being led by a patriarchy, and not a matriarchy. In 792 DR, House Jaezred was formed by the Church of Vhaeraun, after learning that Malaugrym had infiltrating the ruling echelon of Chaul’mur’ssin, the city they lived in on the Plane of Shadows. House Jaezred, going about it's business of killing Malaugrym that had infiltrated the city, began rising in political power, to the point that the Church of Vhaeraun, the de facto leaders of Chaul’mur’ssin began worrying. To avoid bloodshed in a Church of Vhaeraun vs. House Jaezred conflict, House Jaezred agreed to leave Chaul’mur’ssin, and return to Chaulssin, and from there work to undermine Lolth's rule.
-The Jaezred Chaulssin was formed by the Church of Vhaeraun, in 792 DR, and the Jaezred Chaulssin is working to promote the agenda of the Church of Vhaeraun (ie, lessening the influence of Lolth) on the Material Plane. They remain an entity independent of the Church of Vhaeraun, but heavily entrenched in the influence of the Church of Vhaeraun. |

The Jaezred Chaulssin are distancing themselves from Vhaeraun, so how are they workin with the Church of Vhaeraun?? I have read the Wyrmshadow WE and it supports my statement. The Revered Grandfather ONLY wants House Jaezred as the main power base. Again, the Jaezred Chaulssin was NOT formed by the Church of Vhaeraun. Again, the Jaezred Chaulssin was formed to spite the clan of Shadow Dragons that were their slavers. |
