Hey all.

There is a thread at Paizo's sites where they are looking for nominees for your favorite dragons from D&D history:

http://paizo.com/dragon/messageboards/generalDiscussion/wHOSEYOURFAVORITEDRAGON

They are also looking for anecdotes from your personal experiences as well. Klauth and Mist both managed to get mentions in the thread so far.

Why does Klauth seem to get more attention on message boards than the other Wyrms of the North?

I read your topic title as 'Voting Drivel'.

Well, the reason I mentioned Klauth is due to the fact that most of the other dragons I could think of were either of my own creation (some of which had some ties to other more famous dragons), or they were dragons I enjoyed from sourcebooks or novels but had never used myself in any games. I've never had any PCs fight Klauth, but many of them have heard stories in taverns about Klauth swooping down out of the sky to destroy this or that caravan, only to go to another city and hear tales of his friendly conversation with an adventuring company, or of his battles with some other fearsome wyrm that, by extention, saved this or that town or adventuring band. He's been a great "boogey man" for campaigns I have run in the North.

Although I did have fun with PCs that had one of the Morume clan of dragons as a foe for a while as well.

My guess is because he's pretty well known (he was featured and pictured in the FRCS) and also made out to be pretty scary.

When I saw the topic, I thought it was about favorite issues of Dragon. I was thinking of issues 159.

So did I. :)

For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

Like Rino said, he's in the FRCS so is likely better known than many of the others.
And I also read the topic as 'Voting Drivel' to start with.
