Well met
I hereby take pleasure in announcing that Candlekeep is now the official and exclusive host of the long-running Northern Journey project.
This product has been ten years in the making and was produced by Trevor Cooke, Carl Nielsen, Mark Oliva and Joan I. Guardiet as an epic Forgotten Realms campaign set in The North.
This outstanding collection of material totals approximately 150MB of PDF campaign guides, adventures and maps and is available in the Campaign Journals section of the site.
On behalf of Candlekeep, i'd like to thank the NJ project team for giving us the honor of being the official NJ location.

Oooh! I've just downloaded some of the more recent material, and I must say, 'tis a fascinating read.
I doubt I can make much use of it in my own campaign, though there's definitely some ideas I can use to support some of my own tinkering for my FR.

I went through some of it but was overwhelmed with the love and care that went into this Campaign. Bravo to the creators! The maps are so going to used for my campaign and if ever there is a rainy day my players might find themselves Journeying the North.    |

I had almost forgotten about this; I read through most of the material three or four years ago and I remember being quite impressed by both the material itself and the work people have put down in it. Great to see it finished.
Now we can only hope for a Southern Journey  |

Have not downloaded it yet as i am at work right now, but is this actually canon material?

No, many changes to canon, from about the Cloak and Daggers supplement, has been done here. I seem to remember the changes being well documented in the Guide though. Despite being non-canon the material here is first class and there should be plenty here for any Realms fan. |

Great addition!
Really good stuff. I'd say that despite the professional layout and presentation, these modules have this "fan-love" factor that makes them unique and priceless.
I was browsing the first module (first time I come upon this), then seeing they used some Thorass glowing inscriptions on a door compelled me to write this post of generic compliments to the authors. Nice maps too.

I can't unzip the Bloodstone files. I get the message: "File skipped unknown compression method." I tried redownloading all of the files, but I still get the same message. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?
Edit: Nevermind, I right-clicked the files and used the "extract files" function. For some reason that works. |

What unzipping program are you using, if any? And have you tried on another computer? |

Wow, lightning-fast response Wooly! I was just using the normal unzipping program that comes with Windows, and that didn't work. I think the function I was using was WinRAR, which worked. Interesting. |

The NJ files were packed with WinZip 9, which uses a more modern compression algorithm than some older zippers. If your program doesn't do the job, download WinZip 10 (current version) free from http://www.winzip.com . |

I just started to peruse the Northern Journey West documents, and I have to say . . . I always loved Neverwinter, from when I first started reading about it, for some reason. I loved it even more when Volo's Guide to the North came out, but after playing NWN for a while I got a little frustrated because it didn't "feel" like Neverwinter to me.
Just reading through the opening sections of this reminded me of how I felt when I first read about Neverwinter, and its great. Thanks to everyone that was involved in this, if for nothing else, helping me rediscover my love for one of my former favorite stomping grounds in the Realms. |

If you use CC2 or CC3, the maps all are available with German language layers. Just check the layer catalog, turn off those with ENGLISH in their names and turn on those with DEUTSCH in their names. All the English will disappear and the German names will appear. |

I think I have been following the evolution of the Northern Journey project almost since the beginning, I think, visiting the web site every so often and looking forward to each new update. Over the years, I have incorporated many of the ideas in my own games, and in the timeline of my own personal Realms. I want to say - hats off - great, great, great work, guys.
Now, Mark - looking forward to In the Land of the Lich Lords, once you get around the legal issue

We will. Our counsel has told us what to do, and we'll do it. After cranking out a thousand or so pages, we'd do our best to avoid abandoning the project. The revised version should be done some time this year, but look for it here at Candlekeep, not on the Vintyri website. |
