...what are the rules?


I'm a little confused about all this. Can a god directly interfere with mortal affairs? can they show up as an avatar and interfere? If he/she does, does this means a gods war will erupt?


Clarification on the issue will be appreciated, I'm a little inexperienced when it comes to the "grand scheme of things"...

Faiths & Avatars covers this... specifically, the sections for each deity that detail their own individual manifestations and what they can do while appearing in the Realms.
