Ave, hello, and greetings. I'm just another DM looking to make my players lives more interesting (by haveing goblins cook them alive over a slow fire), but since I'm new to FR I need a few pointers to help in my goal. i haven't looked through many of the topics yet, but if someone could kindly point show me where some of the history of the realm is i'd be thankful. my players wanted a change of pace from regular D&D so we decided to try FR. it seems promising but i need to learn the realm to run the game the way i want. thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Well Met Lich Lord
Indeed my fellow Scribe, zemd, is quite correct. You can find all manner of Realmslore and knowledge within this place and our many knowledgable Scribes should aid you in your quest for information. In particular for the History of the Realms, seek out the tome entitled Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting (fondly refered to as the FRCS).
Welcome to Candlekeep, I hope you enjoy your stay in the library. |

Welcome to Candlekeep, Lich Lord. As Alaundo already suggested, FRCS is a great book to read to learn about the overall (sp.) history of the Realms. |

Welcome to Candlekeep. It's most definately the best place to come looking about for information about FR, in my opinion! Enjoy! |

Once upon a midnight dreary, while i pondered, weak and weary, Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore- While i nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door. -The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe |

only my players think I'm evil and only when I'm behind my DM screen with dwarf bighter(4 sider), elf blinder(sixer), dragon fang(8 sider), orc blade(10 sider), bleeder(12 sider), and Petunia the player killer(lucky 20). i can get truly malicious then, but otherwise i'm an ok guy. |

Well met and welcome! Feel free to make yourself at home here. |
"What's that," asked Mogget. "Sardines," said Sam. "I knew they were standard rations, so I got a few tins for you." "What are sardines?" Moggest asked suspiciously. "And why is there a key? Is this some sort of Abhorsen joke?" Abhorsen by Garth Nix
