Some of you might get a laugh from this-

My DM is thinking about scrapping the game. It's not running the way he wanted it to and he still hasn't laid out the wilderness treck yet.

I spoke with one of the players (the one who had no clue about the game). They were expected to spend 3 hours playing; it turned out that they spent all of 15 minutes having play time. Meanwhile, everytime something happened, the player, Angel* was smacking her boyfriend, asking "What's that mean" (Basically, my DM didn't explain anything and she's trying to get a translation into "English")
Worse yet, her first two attack rolls were a *NATURAL* 1 and 2. Talk about Beshaba's displeasure. Shesh!

I'm working on three more levels for the keep anyway (someone may as well benefit from my labor...) So if any of you would like copies, please let me know. I'd be happy to share. Just have to get this scroll copier to work... ::fidgets with scanner::

Dearest Lady Silverwing.
You really are outdoing yourself! You creating work of a dying game, whos DM doesn't seem to be able to keep the game going! Might i ask you a question?
Good! lol- Do you Play D&D? I think that you should start to run your own group and put this work you are doing to some good use. But i understand whats wrong, these people are going along to Play D&D with out having any idea of what its about! They arn't going to have a good experiance with it. I think that The DM is promoting a very bad style of DMing to every one, and in the end he will have lost potential players.
Also if you are wishing to show some one the maps i'd be happy to oblige. Lady Silverwing, i understand that you are some what 'pressure' into helping this DM becuase you borrowed so of his game material but i think you should stop helping him.
Good luck with whatever happens!

Once upon a midnight dreary, while i pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore-
While i nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.

Zemd! Don't hoard the information! Yasraena and her Harper friends will come after you!

Lady Silverwing, I congratulate you on your perseverance. And why not invite these struggling adventurers to this wonderful library? Perhaps (if we're all on our best behaviors ) we can convince them that there is fun to be had in these Realms.

Thanks for keeping us updated LSW. I'm really sorry to hear things aren't going well for the game, but I'm not surprised after what you related to us before. I still say you should try and take these people and run your own game. I'd bet 1000 mithril pieces it would completely outdo/outclass the one they're in now!
And I would really like to see your work on the keep. If you get a chance, send it to me at

*LOL* Warning!!- They're not extravagant, and they're my first ones ever. I laid it all out on graph paper too. Would it be helpful for me to add a description about the keep and its levels? (I'm currently looking at seven, possibly 8 floors to use)

-I can't actually DM a game. #1- I don't know enough players. #2- I don't have the 3-4 hours to get a group together. *sigh* Can't wait to move out of my house and get some freedom...

-Bookwyrm, I don't think half of these people use/ know how to use computers. It's really a shame. I've been trying to get the FR fans I *do* know to use it. Lazy louts!

- To Everyone: Thanks for the encouragement. You've all been absolutely wonderful!!!

I'm really hoping to get these maps done soon, and possibly put on the web for everyone to view. See ya when they're done!! -LSW

You know, there isn't actually a minimum number of persons for role-playing . . . I think five (including a DM) is recomended, but it can really be done with just two in an extreme case . . . .

Of course, I'm the sort of nerd who plays chess and other games against himself, so maybe it's just me . . . .

I agree Bookwyrm, 5 is the perfect number. In the game i'm DMing sometimes were 8!!! Really too hard. 1 round takes hours, and it's hard to not forget a player during the action

Well, I'd be happy to have more than two players- I think five to six is a decent game, but I doubt I can get more than a single player. I know- it's so lame... *sigh*

Each number of players has it's pro's and con's. For years I played as the only player and dm'ed a single player. The level of detail and background involvement is unmatched in this environment.

However, the social aspect of the game is not to be underestimated as well as the fun of working with other "PC" as opposed to a bunch of npc's.

My recommendation is to go for it. Play with however many you can get when you get the chance. As a beginner it's a lot easier to run one person and the game doesn't degenerate into you hunting thru rules books to answer another question from another player while a different player gets stuck waiting for the action to resume.

I also played a lot as the only pc (and vice versa). But i think the job for the DM is the same than when he have 4 players. He must flesh out the NPC better (differents personalities that he must play, different goals...)
But it's also very funny
