I'm actually working on compiling a complete (up to the point of its release) and updated FR FAQ for Candlekeep. It's a compilation of FAQ asked both here and at WotC, with expanded answers and direct replies from learned sages and game designers and authors.
I'll have a preview ready soon that I'll post here and at WotC. I'm expecting feedback and comments from interested scribes, all directed toward making the Candlekeep's Guide to FR FAQ as useful and easy to access as possible.
I'm working on an educational program for my players so they will know more about the Realms.
First a few lectures, then some required reading, and finally: written tests!
Mace - are you serious about this? Not that I have not thought about ways to make my players know more about the great place they travel but a lecture system with a graded test?
However - let me know of your final draft. I am interested as to what you ask and how deap you dig into the realms lore.
Ergdusch
Nah, I ain't serious, my players would bail on me, or lynch me...
At least I asked........... Actually I should propose it to my players just to see their reaction.... If I won't show myself on these boeards for more than 3 weeks in a row they did not take the joke lightly.
To the sage : looking forward to the work ure doing.

There's a good character generator program here http://www.pathguy.com/fr.htm . The same site has a more general D&D character generator, but this one is FR specific.
These, in the day when heaven was falling, The hour when earth's foundations fled, Followed their mercenary calling And took their wages and are dead.
Their shoulders held the sky suspended; They stood, and earth's foundations stay; What God abandoned, these defended, And saved the sum of things for pay.
I have always used pencil and paper and will continue to use it, but since the purchase of some higer end tech oys, i've copied this guy's setup: http://www.d20srd.org/extras/mapProjection.htm
and have been using my laptop for things like: mapping, NPC portraits(to show the party) item pictures, monster pictures..it helps visually. and it's alot easier to have the thing all planned out, but when it comes time for combat or note writing, there is the paper and pencil beside the laptop.

"Why do you cry?" "He is Conan, Cimmerian. He won't cry... So I cry for him."
Year future roleplaying. I have seen it and i must admit that the idea seem good. And the combination of this with sound effect from youre laptop... I just say great

I don't go there as much as I'd like anymore, but these people know a lot about the crunch side of D&D, and create a lot of custom rules. (many of which I agree with, very few which I do not)
And if the PCs DO win their ways through all the liches to Larloch, 蘔e will almost certainly be just another lich (loaded with explosive spells) set up as a decoy, with dozens of hidden liches waiting to pounce on any surviving PCs who 倴elebrate after they take Larloch down. As the REAL Larloch watches (magical scrying) from afar. Myself, as DM, I鏆 be wondering: 廍uch a glorious game, so many opportunities laid out before your PCs to devote your time to, and THIS fixation is the best you can come up with? Are you SURE you𠆫e adventurers? -Ed Greenwood
I love the idear of sharing knowledge, and experience concerning D&D, and this is one of the ways I am doing it.
I will add your link, Thanks
Your name reminds me of Hazim a CN mage I played from Chersenta, are really ****ing freak, that believed that Mystra was a black cat living in his black hat.

It's actually from The Wheel of Time series. But that's kind of a funny connection as well. I had the MazrimTaim on this board as well, but somehow I lost that account.

Heck ... no mention of the German DnD-Gate as yet?! What a shocker! We have a mini-version of the WizBoards over here (just under 2,400 registered users), as well as a fair amount of gaming material (German and English) and revisions plus a Board (Forum) and Online Game section.
Brian's Grand History tome is already stored here at Candlekeep. Though, for how much longer, we cannot accurately say. Once the hardcover is published by WotC, 'tis likely the PDF copy here will have to be removed.
Great idea Victor, I'm going to have to add a bunch of those to my favorites! The following is a comprehensive list of some of the sites I use for all my gaming needs. I left out all of the CK/WotC ones for obvious reasons.
Nice timeline, for when I don㦙 have time to look in the 𡛓rand book -
