Fair be our meeting, for our hearts are light and our swords sheathed, we hold peace in our hands and its light guides us.
I am Alediran of House Tir'ent from Evermeet, we are a Noble family who focuses on the Wizard's path and the acumulation of knowledge from the mainland. I came to this library because I'm searching for information from the whereabouts of the famed Aryfaern'Kerym of Cormanthor.
OOC: I've been lurking the forum a little in the last week and I decided to register so I can learn more about the vast lands of Toril.

Welcome! It's always fun to see more mages in the halls. |

Welcome to Candlekeep!
Feel free to ask any questions you may have... A lot of us have been Realms fans for years, and we know a thing or three about the setting. Plus, we've got some of the authors and creators here!
As for the rest of us, we are friendly, mostly harmless, and occasionally strange... Enjoy your stay! |

Don't worry. I've been in a couple seedy places, the worst of them was a tabern in Sammarash on Lapaliiya, where my master, an Elemental Savant of air from Halruaa instructed me to find a special blue saphire that was part of the ritual that allowed me to become a follower of this way of magic. The poor chap who intended to rob me got shocked by a Spell I created a week ago as part of my training. |

Greetings to you Alediran, and welcome to Candlekeep.
Here you will find many curious questions pertaining to the extensive Realmslore of the FR setting. As well, you will also discover many fantastic answers -- some of which have even been generously provided by the Great Sages of the Realms themselves.
So please, take a look around. If you feel the need to ask a question, or to merely discuss some element of the Realmslore, then simply find the appropriately place or shelf within the library and open a scroll. One of our many knowledgeable scribes, the dedicated staff of Candlekeep, or even a visitor to these halls, will always be happy to assist you in learning more about the Realms.
See you in the library.

This time I must apologise that I couldn't brought a rare book to the library, as you surely know, knowledge about Evermeet isn't allowed to N'Tel'Quessir, and not even I would break that rule. But I can give you a Spell I developed, it's the protective spell I already mentioned that zapped a little thief in that inn. I called it Alediran's Storm Shield, it's an evocation of five pages that surelly can be usefull and it will delight me that it's used by as much good-hearted wizards as possible.

Aye, well met, and welcome to Candlekeep...and don't ye worry about that book, they let *me* in just based on my wits and sarcasmn...
Nah, seriously, welcome.
And some of the answers you get from me may depend on my level of caffein, cigarettes and lack of sleep...or if I am merely in a goofy mood. |
Mace's not so gentle gamer's journal My rants were harmless compared to this, beware! |
