Does this strike anyone else as being rather odd?
Waterdeep is a major trading centre for both legimate and ilegal goods, It has almost half a dozen noble houses that have Waukeen listed as their patron deity. Id think Waterdeep would be a prime candiate for a major temple of Waukeen!

Well, I'd imagine Waukeen would still have some representation at the Plinth. And there are likely to be smaller shrines dedicated to her throughout the Wards.

I'll let Ed explain -
"The Plinth is it.
The thinking here is that the clergy of Waukeen, knowing merchants all too well, don’t ever want worship of the Merchants’ Friend to be ‘confined’ to holy altars and special days—they keep preaching that Waukeen watches over every transaction, and should be reverenced (silently, if need be, but with proper offerings given promptly) at every transaction.
Clergy wander the city daily, collecting such monies. The Plinth is for those special “bless this voyage of special cargo” or “new enterprise” ceremonies, and for paying for misdeeds/regaining the favor of the clergy. Remember, whenever you handle coins or barter goods, Waukeen Is There."

| It may also be that established trading powers in the city are jealous of a potential rival for attention and coin and so a temple to Waukeen was never set up. |

Actually, Sian is likely referring to the Goldspires -- the Abbey in Athkatla that is dedicated to Waukeen.
Waukeen's Promenade is another locale within Athkatla... a great marketplace and dedicated region for commerce in the City of Coin.

| Sorry everyone. There is no more temple to Tymora in Waterdeep anymore either. The dwarf cleric of Moradin in my campaign smashed it to pieces trying to destroy a cursed ring (ala Gimli and the one ring - only more), which made the wearer "think" it made him invisible. Sorry. |

Waukeen's Promenade
The promenade is a prominent, oval-shaped marketplace, located in the heart of Athkatla. The Promenade is named after Waukeen, the missing Goddess of Wealth. A good portion of it was destroyed by the evil mage Jon Irenicus. Located within the Promenade are general shops, bookshops, homes, a carnival, shops carrying various sundries, inns, and the Adventurer's Mart, run by former adventurer Ribald Barterman.
