Well, I'm not posting to say I do, but I'm posting to say it's hard to find something.
You see, at Secrets of the Realms this year, it was asked at that GenCon seminar, if a new Atlas of the Realms would come about. Something which is hard to find (I'm presuming), and extremely good, even if it is an older item.
They said no.
WoTC doesn't seem to want their readers/rpg'ers to have maps to understand where characters are bouncing around to, to plan their own campaigns with detail or any of the above, simply because they think it wouldn't sell.
Just keep trying though, your bound to find something reasonable or anotehr solution for you. |

I think you're taking an overly negative view. They do include maps in their sourcebooks, they put maps on their website, and they have those map folios out. With all that in mind, what makes you think they don't want to give out maps?
The people that make these kind of decisions have to work with what they believe the fans want, and, more importantly, what they think the fans will buy. Their previous attempt at selling maps in an electronic format didn't work out terribly well -- they eventually had to dump the remaining stock at half-price. I know, because I'd gotten the flyer from the TSR Mail Order Hobby Shop that advertised the software for half-price. That's when I got it.
Now, obviously, if their prior attempt to sell a particular product resulted in them having to dump it like that, they're going to be rather wary of trying it again. Maybe they're disregarding the fact that the software was kinda pricy, especially in the days of Windows 95, and/or the fact that not everyone had computers back then. And then again, maybe they're not forgetting that... Either way, they obviously don't think it will sell now, or at least not well enough to justify taking the chance at doing it.
I really think we should avoid ascribing motives to someone when we don't have all of the info at hand. |

Anyway; Nokom asks for the 1 and 2ed version of Faerun. Your best bet would be to buy a download of the old atlas or else Google it and see what shows up. I have seen a couple of versions on the net, but I cant remember the sites or how printer friendly they were. |
