Welcome to Candlekeep!
Feel free to ask any questions you may have... A lot of us have been Realms fans for years, and we know a thing or three about the setting. Plus, we've got some of the authors and creators here!
As for the rest of us, we are friendly, mostly harmless, and occasionally strange... Enjoy your stay!
Kalin is correct. At least the first two Volo's Guides (Volo's Guide to Waterdeep, Volo's Guide to the Sword Coast) had recipes in them; I don't remember if the later ones did. You could check, though: all of the later ones, save for Volo's Guide to Baldur's Gate II, are available for free from the Wizards downloads page. |

IIRC Ed provided a few recipes, or at least discuessed them. |
"Small beings can have small wisdom," the dragon said. "And small wise beings are better than small fools. Listen: Wisdom is caring for afterwards." "Caring for afterwards ...? Ker repeated this without understanding. "After action, afterwards," the dragon said. "Choose the afterwards first, then the action. Fools choose action first." Aurora's Whole Realms Catalogue also has a few choice recipe tidbits, yes.

*Coughs* Well, I am working on something that relates this, but only have one posted so far. I am waiting on the answer to a question I put forth to Ed, and finishing my research for it. Once I remember where, and find it, I'll post the link to the other thread here. ~Kes
And here's the link: http://forum.candlekeep.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6487 (hopefully it works ) |

Thanks To everyone for the warm welcoming... And I will be looking to see your work ready kes alandel. To kalin agrivar and The Sage - You have got me a starting points to waste my growing spare time. Thanks... Kentinal - What is IIRC Ed? Does this include using IRC as the name suggests? I never was able to communicate with that program... |

IIRC = If I Recall Correctly It has nothing to do with IRC or any other communication program.
Ed was in refference to Ed Greenwood.
To expand my answer, If I Recall Correctly Ed has provided some recipes in one of his answers in one of the Ask threads. I am sure he has discussed some food of the Realms.

Thank ye for the kind words idan_mor, I'm completely reworking what I posted for the actual article.
Aye, Ed has discussed different foods, but not really any recipes, for the various areas. There are posts in 2004, 2005, and this years' thread. You can use Kuje's index to find them fairly easily in the database of answers. If I can remember the dates (or find them in my notes) I'll post them. ~Kes |

Aye, I found it, but I'll admit it took me a while. I am still working on it, but for having the summer off work, I'm finding I have little time. Guess that's what happens when you have teenage daughters, with one heading off for college in a month. ~Kes |

Thanks Kes_Alanadel for clearing that out for me... :) I guess that 6 months travelling effected my memory more than I thought so. And Kes_Alanadel I will look more into what you mentioned. I guess I probably have more spare time, Wish your daughter goodluck. I think I can symphatize with her as I start my degree as well in a month. Well Off to search... |
