Welcome to Candlekeep, Brad_Stubbert. (I would suggest you start a welcome topic in the appropriate forum if you haven't yet.)
Well, I would say the best source to get a good overview of the Realms is the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting book. It can tell you about the general culture in each region, and describes the calendar of the Realms. You could also start by reading some of the novels (there are some other topics around that address which ones to start with).
As to information on other fantasy topics, I know not exactly what you mean, so I'm sure another scribe will be glad to help you.
I hope you enjoy your stay here in the great walls of Candlekeep, and may you find the knowledge you seek here. |

Well met and welcome. Though this topic probably should be in the section that Drummer Boy has hinted at. But you're still welcome just the same.
You can get more info just by reading the books too as well as the FR campaign setting book. As far as other fantasy topics, it depends on what you're looking for. you can also find those with the DnD stuff as well as numerous internet resources. But I'm not sure exactly what to tell you. Your question isn't really all that specific. |
"What's that," asked Mogget. "Sardines," said Sam. "I knew they were standard rations, so I got a few tins for you." "What are sardines?" Moggest asked suspiciously. "And why is there a key? Is this some sort of Abhorsen joke?" Abhorsen by Garth Nix

Hail and Honor, I too came here seeking knowledge of the FR and found many scribes and sages willing to share their knowledge with me. I have now a small library going of all that I have gotten involved with. I have to say this library and those contained in it will direct you into the best course you would like to be on. All you have to do is describe what you need and they will provide the best way to get it. Again, welcome to Candlekeep.

Thank you all for the very warm welcome i will indeed take a very long look at the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting book. sorry i did not place this topic in the apporite place but in all honesty i am so new to this place that i had no clue how to get to there. Sorry for not making my other question specific but Sadonayerah Odrydin was right it did concern Doungons and Dragons. again thank you for the very warm welcome this library looks just as good as i thought it would be. |
