I know there are many little 'groups' in that city, such as the Greycloaks, Long watch, Hill elders, etc. But is there an actual list and description?

You can get most stuff from expansions. |
My name is Tiax, I would ask yours but I don't care to become aquainted with the dead.

Um ... I know I'm a few years late with this, but in case anybody cares ...
The Hill Elders are the rulers of Evereska, elves of immense age, learning, and power. Thanks to their care and foresight, Evereska's inhabitants are free to live deep within the elven mysteries. Some elves never leave Evereska for the outside world. Others guard the city with unceasing vigilance. |

Yes, true. But the recent events in RotZ has caused quite a number of changes to Evereska and its defenders. Even the defenders suffered very heavily during the siege by the phaerimm. |
We have fostered trust, recruited loyalty, and gathered the faithful. We have trained thousands. Our legions can cover the land, fill the sky and travel through the darkness. We can hunt any and all that would deny our heritage. My apologies for the spelling mistake, it should be RotA, Return of the Archwizards. |

Some Hill Elders make an appearance in the Troy Denning's Return of the Archwizards trilogy. I also believe one is featured in Richard Baker's first entry for the The Last Mythal trilogy. |

Zombies in Evereska? By the Shadovar doing? Hmm....unlikely as Shadovars are not that well versed in necromancy anyway. |

Really? Considering the bonus given to necromancy spells that you get from taking the Shadow Weave Magicfeat, I'd say there's probably a Shadovar necromancer or two hanging around |
There is a rumour going around that I have found god. I think is unlikely because I have enough difficulty finding my keys, and there is empirical evidence that they exist. Terry Pratchett |

Really? Then I am certainly eager to meet these Shadovar necromancers. |

Oh, I know. I generally ignore spelling mistakes, but when one has the potential for humor, I have to point it out. |

Guess we'll have to make you one then (as well as mention one from a canon source).
Fitzder Revanol (LE male shade necromancer 9/shadow adept 3).
Fitzder is an imposing man, closer to six than five feet in length, and with a lean physique typical of wizards that has not fallen to the lure of coomfy cushions and big dinners yet, who is rarely seen with a scowl on his face. According to some rumours, he's the illegitemate son of Prince Dethud Tanthul (LE male shade Nec15/Sha8) - and there is many a person that has taken this to heart when speaking of Fitzder ("Bastard by birth, bastard by trade, and bastard by nature"), although never when he has been near enough to overhear them. Fitzder learned the art of necromancy from his rumoured father, and was one of the citizens of Shade that was most enthusiastic when the city returned to the Prime and Faerūn. These days he divides his time between his own studies which he carries out in a newly constructed lab in a cave in the Scimitar Spires (he decided that a flying city wasn't safe enough after the near-succesful attempt by Khelben "Blackstaff" Arunsun, Laeral Silverhand, several of her sisters, and some assorted adventurers to ground the city once and for all), and serving his (if rumour holds true) grandfather as ambassador to Thay where he has been trying to convince the Zulkirs in general and Szass Tam in particular to join in alliance with the Shadovar. If he has been succesful or not is as of yet unknown. |
