what is the most interesting adventure hooks in an official lorebook?

IMO it would problery be the adventure in LeoF about Nethiel where a Selūne follower have gotten her hands on an artifact that need to be moved into ancharoth desert by the adventurers (under constant attack from shades, sharites, thayan wizards and a bunch of others) to an old nearly forgotten Selūne temple from the time of netheril and summon the Netherese city of Selūnenna (something around that... doesn't have LeoF around right now) from her plane

what happened to the queen? she's much more hysterical than usual
She's a women, it happens once a month

It might not be the most detailed or epic adventure hook in all FR source books but I always found it to be very intriguing: it is the "I want my things back"-hook in the Western Heartlands section of the FRCS where the Zhent-renegade Semmemon askes for help recovering his left behind belongings from Darkhold.

I love "I want my things back." I think that's really funny.

The adventure works even better if the most important thing he wants isn't a magic item but some little romantic trinket that Ashemmi gave him.

But, my favorite adventure hook in the whole Realms is the History of Westgate, and the mysterious scepter with the imprisoned dragon. I'm running a game in the Dragon Coast right now, and everyone is looking for the scepter. It's great fun. The Night Masks are looking for it, the mentor of one of the PC's is looking for it, dozens of other people are looking for it. They make enemies so quickly it's not even funny.

The overplot for the campaign is "The First King Returns." It should be really fun when Vampire Manshoon gets his hands on the scepter and enslaves the dragon. That should be worth the money as a final battle.

I agree. You wouldn't expect an adventure hook about Sememmon simply wanting his stuff back.
