Hi all,

My previous post title (New look for FR maps) sounded a little bit too pretentious for my taste so i start this thread to share my map of Valedale, a little corner of the Dalelands not in the books.

This is what i could get with the new version of Campaign Cartographer and all effects were done inside the program. No touch ups in Photoshop.

I hope you will enjoy it. I start mapping real Realms region tomorrow :)

Thanks

Pat

I always appreciate comments on how i can better my maps.

very nice, which portions of the existing realms are you going to start with?

Hi,

Frankly, i'm tempted to start with the Moonsea region since i like the MoM so much. There is a lot of information that needs maping in this book and i thought i'd give it a go.

I' m also interested in remaking the cities that came in the FR adventures book from 2nd Ed. Those maps were really crude.

I might do floorplans too for different buildings that get mentions in the books but no maps.

But the Moonsea is my preference.

A great map, Patrakis!

You have really "tweaked" the Spiderhaunt Woods, but it is your Realms, too

Thank you Asgetrion,

Not that much tweaked. The scale is very small so the part of the Spiderhaunt you see is actually just the southern tip of the forest. Locals call it the Alomen Woods because of the moon elf community the resised there.

On the subject of the map, could you see this style applied to more cannon regions. I'm about to map other sections of the realms but considering the response i get with this one, i'm not sure the style is very appreciated. That being said, i know many have passed before me stating that they would map here and there and we never saw anything after that. I really plan on doing though.

Anyway, thanks again for the time.

I think this is great, the maps are one of the main reason I enjoy the realms. One question, what scale are you thinking of using? I see the valdale map at 1 grid = 5 miles

Thanks Scererar,

You know, you're right, there is no specific scale other than the 1 square = 5 miles. I haven't shown it in the traditional way.

I'll get back to you on that.
